My hello and introduction
« on: June 14, 2014, 01:37:41 PM »
Dear Gentlemen,
I'm Taikka, 32, Russian, living in Russia.
Frankly speaking, i'm a bit embarrassed to speak on such a forum because i'm... ehm... a woman )) happily married Russian woman, mother of two.
I found your forum yesterday, absolutely accidentally - was looking for an opportunity for a child on tourist visa to study in primary school in western Australia -  and found a thread with a similar question from one of your members. First i thought that russianwomendiscussion was the forum where immigrant women discuss their husband-children-kitchen blah-blah-blah, but looking further the forum looked much more interesting )))  :D
Not going deep in the study, looking only through some of the introduction messages and comments, i loved the forum and its members with all my RW heart ;)
Seriously, i liked the atmosphere - so light, friendly and sarcastic)) without humor life would be catastrophic...
Well, i'm not here to give you, noble men, any advice on how to deal with us, RW, but i'd like to say good luck to all of you, seeking for a good friend and a wife.
Guys, you are so nice! :))

Best regards,
Taikka.

Sandro referred to the 'myth.'

To go further . . .  reminds me of . . .

On a gravestone were the words:

"Here lies a lawyer and an honest man"

Many who read the words were moved to say:

"I thought it was illegal to bury two persons in the same grave."
A beautiful woman is pleasant to look at, but it is easier to live with a pleasant acting one.

You should be embarrassed because we don't like women, we don't like mothers, and we don't like happy.

 :welcome: Taikka!  We could certainly use a lot more input from Russian women on this forum, as most of the female members have stopped posting since Russia annexed Crimea.

Unfortunately, most of the nobility has completely disappeared because the married male members seem to have split according to whether their wives are Ukrainian or Russian.  As for the rest of us - most love both countries and wish that there was some way to stop the escalation of hostilities towards an all-out war in the border regions.  Hopefully you live a long way away.

AK-- I do not think there is a split along the lines you define--   many guys married to Russians  are sensible enough to understand the bigger picture and reject Putins invasion and inteference in Ukraine as unacceptable -- as  do many Russians -both in Russia and around the world.Many Russians are feeling shamed by Putins Russia-- so it makes them vicims also.
FWIW-- on the forum itself--there are in fact very few  who approve of Putins invasion.

You need to look a bit more closely, JayH - however, I will concede that it's not split totally due to nationality.  I'll rephrase it to say that "many of the married male members..."  Happier with that?  :D

Thanks all for the warm greetings!
Even if I wouldn't be a frequent member here (i'm more a "reader", than a "writer"), i'll try to follow the most urgent topics, excluding politics. Not because i'm not interested in it or understand nothing, but because let it be absolutely male fight field ;)
What else about myself: love traveling. Each winter we spend outside Russia, and everywhere we travel, we see RW - married or not, with foreign husbands or Russian migrant-males.
Thanks again. I will try to be as helpful as i can - if you have questions about RW from the inside :)

Well, 30 countries in 6 years and we had to change our passports twice for the lack of empty space for visa stamps :)
Again, i see that american and russian peopla can do very well together, with the same sence of humor :)
I enjoy reading and writing here for one more reason - good practice of English for me.

It's just a nickname, nothing common with my real name. I'm from Kazan.

Lovely city - I really enjoyed my time there!  :thumbsup:

Although she hasn't been around for nearly a year, we do/did have another RW member from Kazan - Vasilisa.  She was married to an American for a while, but got divorced and moved back to Russia about 18 months ago.  Last she wrote, she had a new boyfriend, a good job that she really enjoyed, and couldn't understand how married people or those in a relationship could find time to post on here as well!

And she is right - no time at all, but as i'm not looking for a man or any relations, I visit the forum only when my kids are safely playing on the playground outdoors. As I've said it's a means of english practice for me.
Anyway, if any of you has any questions about my city and people - I will be more than happy to answer!

I have a question. What do you think of Western men who search for Russian wives and Russian women who search for Western men? People looking for true love or people with problems?

RW:
- poverty. Outside 3-5 big cities in the Ukraine and 10-15 cities in Russia it is extremely difficult to find a decent job. The situation in the U is much worse than in R.
- again, outside big cities men are usually less educated, limited in their values and strivings.
- Women want to see the world, but can't afford to travel, and some affair abroad is the chance to have a glimpse of "something better".
- love, yes. Most women are eager to get some romance and love.

I don't think people looking for a partner abroad are those with problems. Mostly they are disappointed in what they see around - no matter experiencing it themselves or seeing it around (rudeness, greed, poverty, violence etc.). Moreover, if it is not a scam and a real desire to find someone abroad, it means that such a person is richer in his soul than many other.
And if the person REALLY has problems that make it difficult to find a spouse or a friend, than it would be as well difficult with any nationality.
What about western men - that's for you to judge :)

Among my acquaintances and friends there are a lot of single women, divorced or never been married, at their early 30-s that simply do not want to  spend the rest of their life with russian men because of many reasons.  :-\

Good day, friends! :) oh, do i dare to call you "friends", misters?

I looked through the E-book of RWD, and I feel sorry that money and greed plays such a huge role in the life of our people, and in the lives of FSU women... All that scams...

Let's fancy: internet had died forever. No more bridal agencies online, no more social nets like facebook and vk. How to find a woman, fetching some humble parameters?
- rather young;
- preferably good looking;
- preferably single with no children;
- speaking english at any level;
- russian or other FSU.
Imagine our guy, making a tour to some city in Russia (I'm speaking about Russia because it is my country, but the situation itself can be moved to any country of fsu). Choose any big city (exclude Moscow and Spb), find out where the teachers' training university is, find the spot where the students of the foreign-languages-faculty gather. Such universities are 95% feminine, men (boys) are very rare among future teachers. I know it, i've graduated from one of such unies.
Students and young teachers (most of them english-speaking) can often be met in the nearby eateries (coffeshops, pizzerias), at nearby bookshops at the department of foreign literature. Those girls in majority would never work as teachers, but they will use their language knowledge in any other field of life (travel, private translating, working for dating and marriage agencies, yes....). Knowing much more than the average person about the culture and people of the country of the language they study (be it English, German, French or Italian or any other), they are always eager to practice the language with the foreigner.
Now try any of life situations a foreigner can get in our country: I'm lost; how to get; how to find; help me with something... Students will help, for sure. Make some friends first, then it may or may not turn in something more, than friendship. Even if not, at least you'll have the chance to know our people better, our life and country.

It all can sound and look a bit naive (please, don't throw eggs on me :) but for me knowing people "in flesh" is much productive, and less risky, than remote relationships.

So, guys, wish you all luck in your searching process! And wish luck to our wonderful women!

Actually Taikka was quite clear as to how she found this site and what her intent is here.
She is not looking for a second husband. :)
