Aloe update, 5.5 years
« on: September 11, 2014, 02:39:10 AM »
So i felt like sharing my joy  :D  We've been married for 5.5 years now, and very happy :D Our 'mini-divorce' last year, when i went on vacation for 1 month by myself, and then moved out for 2 weeks, worked wonders  :D  We read some marriage books, and moved back in together after 2 weeks, and since then we have been sooooooooo happy. Happiest ever  :D  We haven't argued in over one year. Our life has been so wonderful. I'm waking up every day with a smile, and feeling so lucky to have him  :D

A couple of weeks ago we bought a wonderful, amazing dream house that was a great bargain, which we quickly snatched from the market  :D  And also I've just graduated magna cum laude from my university! Yay, life is good  :D

I'm very happy for you, especially the part about no arguments!  Has your husband given up computer gaming so that he can spend quality time with his beautiful wife?

Congratulations, also, on the new house and your academic success.  To do so in a language that you've had to learn from scratch while completing your degree shows that you can truly move mountains.  :clapping:

Very nice! You'd been very busy in the last year, eh?

Yeah, nothing like a month-long vacation in hell the US to bring clarity in your life. It's like having that Mr. Scrooge experience.

Seriously, congratulations Aloe!

Congratulations, Aloe.  I am happy to read that you are happy in your marriage, that you've now graduated, and that you will finally have a house, as you wished.  All great news!
After the fall of communism, the biggest mistake Boris Yeltsin's regime made was not to disband the KGB altogether. Instead it changed its name to the FSB and, to many observers, morphed into a gangster organisation, eventually headed by master criminal Vladimir Putin. - Gerard Batten

You two are growing up in the right direction, believe it or not, faster than most couples who's have rough beginnings.

Aloe,

You have always been a ray of sunshine at RWD, and your husband is a lucky man.

Congratulations for all your successes in life.

Your opinion that Belgium is better than America does not make you anti-American.   ;)

Isn't that the truth? Not only with places but with people, too..Maybe that's just human nature.

An occasional re-charge or rebooting now and then is always a good thing to do to put many things in life in proper perspective.

We're very happy for you, Aloe!

Aloe,

I want to say I wish you the best marriage. I'm a member from before on this board and have read some of
your posts. Marriage is not easy and takes a lot of work from both spouses. I joked with folks at work in the beginning when asked how the marriage was going (it was popular since I married a RW.  I said "Oh it's been good and I've learned something about myself that I've never known: I"m always wrong." For me, the key has been balancing that thought. I do all I can do to make my wife know she is the most important part of my life. I'm not 100% in that effort yet but I keep trying.

Congratulations on 5.5 years of marriage.

Mark
