Shame on you, CDW - Phar Lap was a New Zealand horse, who raced here before going to Australia (and winning everything in sight).  I think the Aussie members here will agree that Black Caviar is the greatest sprinter they've ever seen.  Just a shame that she and Frankel were never able to meet on a racecourse because of their best distances being rather different.

Ludmila, you fail to take into account that depression increases the risk of suicide by quite some anyway and also that although there is debate that some antidepressants may increase the risk of suicide in some people, generally, antidepressant treatment reduces the risk of suicide and saves lives.


And Boethius never mentioned that violence towards homosexuals didn't occur anywhere else. However, it was you that said, incorrectly as it turns out (duh!), "NOBODY BEATS GAYS IN RUSSIA".

Sorry!!  lol At Least I can now say that Phar Lap is the greatest New Zealand horse     If Black Caviar and Frankel's race were on - it would've been the race of the century - far better than Seabiscuit v. War Admiral in 1930s

There is a film on u-tube about Phar Lap but they do not have subtitles.  I might have to watch it without it

The soldier suicides most likely are related to PTSD and witnessing the horrors of war, rather than to antidepressants. 

Of course those under 25 years of age would be most at risk of suicide.  They are more at risk to commit suicide in any event.  Incidentally, Russia's suicide rate is about double that of the United States, despite the lack of widespread use of pharmaceutical antidepressants.

I should not even respond to you because you're clueless.  To sum it up in a simple manner America does not go to war to steal land from neighboring countries.  We go to war to try to make the World a better place.  Whether or not that always works out is certainly open to debate.

Not sure about Phar Lap being the best - we had an amazing horse in the 1890s called Carbine, and many people who saw both said that he was better than Phar Lap.  As for sub-titles - there would be a huge amount of work required to have them shown at the speed of a race commentary.  How do you get on when watching races now?

I don't need subtitles when watching horse racing.  I always switched it off.   Neither do I watch in most sports.  Subtitles are always in the way - block my viewing lol

But as for FILM, it is different matter - film about the life of Phar Lap including the shooting business!
