Home-keeping science in former Soviet Union :-)
« on: November 05, 2014, 11:38:14 AM »
After reading the following text from a book on home-keeping science that was published in the former Soviet Union in 60s, I had to share it with you.

Recommendations for wives: “….you must remember to get prepared for your husband’s return from work daily. To prepare the children, you need to wash their faces, do their hairs and dress them in clean nice clothes. The children must be lined in front of the entrance door and greed the father. To prepare yourself, put on a clean apron and beautify yourself. For example, you could tie a bow on your head.  Do not bother your husband with conversations; remember he is tired because of all the things he has accomplished at work for you. Feed him silently. And only after he has read a newspaper, you may try to start a conversation”.

Recommendation for husbands: “After having sex with your wife, you must allow her to go in the bathroom. Do not follow after her, let her to be alone. Likely, she needs to cry for a while”.

If you want to share this "science" with your ladies, the Russian text is attached .

Funny stuff.

It's very similar to the Good Wife's Guide.

Where are the men supposed to go to cry after sex ?
A beautiful woman is pleasant to look at, but it is easier to live with a pleasant acting one.

From that good wife guide:

"Try to make sure the home is a place of peace, order and tranquility".

Sounds like good advice no matter what decade it is.

Was this intended by the book's author as a joke?  Who was the author?

Gator, I cannot find who is the author of the book. It seems like this book, with some alterations therein,  was published  in Australia, the US, and the former Soviet Union.  Here is the cover of the Russian book.

I do not have the book itself, I found the excerpt on Russian social network. When I googled the text, I found so much more info from the book that is comical. However, the book was not intended to make people laugh, it was intended to teach them the way to live their lives.

In addition to giving advises about family life, the book teaches how to take care of children, indoor and outdoor plants,  how to cook and make clothes, how to clean various things....anything that a housewife may find helpful to know.

Once I was able to find some pages from the book, I was surprised to see that it was a book I had home in Russia. It was a very popular book and many households had it.

"Cross ventilation?"  Why not just say "fresh air?"

Are you sure about that Mike?   I have a feeling that some of the men married to the women I see in WalMart could easily need to cry after sex.

My wife read her Grandmothers copy of it.

"Cross ventilation?"  Why not just say "fresh air?"

Fresh air from one open window is mandatory.  Yet opening two windows creates moving air, the same as the very lethal air conditioner vents.

I asked,  "What is different about a moderate breeze outdoors."

"That is different."

"How?"

"Finished!"

....silence....

What are you talking about?  Didn't you say that they had inner beauty?

But who would want to go that deep to find it ?

Or maybe a wrinkle works just fine.

If Soviet men were so unskilled in bed that she "needs to cry for a while" after a knee trembler then it's little wonder the women started looking West as soon as the opportunity arose. ;D

Yes, but the problem is that Walmart switched from paper bags to plastic.

And here I always thought it was the up and down motion that stimulated the bladder and caused all those trips to the bathroom after.

Ochka said that within last 5 years or so, her mother told her that her father was 'very good at sex.'

I told Ochka she should press for more details; but she declined to do so.   8)

You know a person is really ugly when dogs put bag over their head before humping the leg.
