Hello I'm kinda new
« on: December 30, 2014, 11:48:32 AM »
I've been fascinated with Eastern Europe since college through my Russian Lit courses. I've been there a few times and have met a few great women and men. After a hiatus of 10 years (back to back to back relationships stateside) I'm back and seems things have changed a lot. Keeping my options open for Russia or Ukrainian travel. Looks like this is good site for some good advice.

Growing up in the 80's and a strong interest in history, politics and literature makes me interested in the former Soviet Union - I'm still wondering why such a strong fascination. Is it a fetish? Is it a need to connect to something different than America? Is it the taboo and adversarial nature we grew up with? Or is it simply the exotic beautiful women?

I do realize the great possibility of being scammed. Of being lied to - of being used but I wonder why I persist.

My head tells me so much easier to date American women but then I'm here. Any of you men going through these thoughts too?

Welcome,

You, more or less, in a nutshell, share the pros and cons of Eastern European dating.  It is not for the feint of heart.

To seriously endeavor to proceed, you must have sufficient funds, the ability to travel (more than once) and also a dedication to overcoming cultural barriers.  The rewards can be tremendous.  But the risks are substantial.

We welcome your discussion on this board.

Sure we would love to believe those of us who have done it are special, super human, discovered sliced bread yadda, yadda  and all of that but the truth is, anyone with half a brain can do it. If they use the working half of that brain. It's not nuclear science but merely, but meets girl with nuances.

Good luck cameraf

Good to have you Cameraguyf. I've recently discovered this forum, and it's a good forum to mingle (and debate) with other guys (and girls) about FSU women and its dating culture.

I don't think any guy should let the possibility of being scammed prevent them from searching for a FSU. You don't have to be a special snow flake to find an FSU women like what Faux Pas has said, and to reiterate Jone's point, you do need money to do this. Ukraine tends to be popular with a lot of the guys here, probably because of the costs and the abundance of beautiful women there. Either way, if you are successful, this will be one of the best things you've ever done.

Tickets are cheaper.  FP had it right.  You are here for a reason.  Only you know why.  So why not find out where this story ends.

Either way, good luck.  Get what you want.

Growing up in the 80's and a strong interest in history, politics and literature makes me interested in the former Soviet Union - I'm still wondering why such a strong fascination. Is it a fetish? (YES!!) Is it a need to connect to something different than America? (NO!!!) Is it the taboo and adversarial nature we grew up with?(HUH??) Or is it simply the exotic beautiful women?(You bet your sweet bippy it is.)

Here is some serious advice. If you go looking for a scammer, you will find her. THAT is a given.

Is it easier to date American women? Yes, far. The women from the former Soyuz are raised somewhat different from the American women. If you think American women are cut-throat, wait until you get involved with one of these "angels."

Are you going to be lied to? Count on it. Just like you will lie to her.

A simple solution for your quest.

Learn to talk in complete ENGLISH sentences and learn to LISTEN. It will make the communication much easier.

Did I mention you will have one hell of a time communicating with them?

Oh, BTW, it applies to the local girls too.

Now, going back to that fetish. Yeah, it's well worth it. ;D

First, a big  :welcome:

Second, with this background, you are far better prepared than 98% of the newbies.

Third, some of your questions are rhetorical.  That is okay.  The attraction starts because of their beauty.  However, that is not the  reason to fly there just to meet pretty women.  There has to be more, and fortunately many RW have much more.

Fourth, the process is not difficult so jump into the deep end.    Contact a few pretty RW and see what happens.  Not every RW is keen on Russian lit, yet some are, and I have found them to be delightful women based on my criteria.  My wife is such (Pushkin gold medal and such).  So use your background to get the Skype conversations rolling in substance rather than talking about the cold weather and her favorite foods.
