Donetsk Airport

Watching BBC video of Donetsk airport it I hard to imagine how long it will be closed. It does not seem like it is not worth fighting over but I am not a military man.

Any airfield capable of landing heavy transports and suppliers is an big asset for the invaders.

It will take a month to restore its strategic value.  It is all political at this point.

It's the location that matters. Whoever controls this airport also controls highways crisscrossing it and a much larger area that would be cut off from the west.
