Former head of MI6 Sir John Sawers has said that Russia is a danger and an increasing threat to the UK and it's allies in Europe.

Time for Merkel and her French pal to wake up.
Just saying it like it is.

Don't hold your breath.  They have their heads so far up Putin's ass they won't do anything worthwhile for Ukraine (not that our president is any better).

Obama and Cameron seemed to have fared well not to take part in Minsk.  Obama took credit for Merkel's diplomacy the day afterward before it was apparent that the deal was DOA.

Russia was ready to activate nuclear weapons re Crimea, according to Putin -

After the fall of communism, the biggest mistake Boris Yeltsin's regime made was not to disband the KGB altogether. Instead it changed its name to the FSB and, to many observers, morphed into a gangster organisation, eventually headed by master criminal Vladimir Putin. - Gerard Batten

If true (and it may well be), the western powers are right to take this slow and offer Russia puts every time they can.  Although the conflict is bad, it could get MUCH worse for the world.

Fathertime!
I just happened to be browsing about the internet....

I seriously doubt Putin will risk losing Russia through total nuclear war over a piece of land such as Crimea. Putin does have plans to take more land elsewhere and it's important to get people to believe he will risk nuclear war every step of the way so the West will back off.
Fund the audits, spread the word and educate people, write your politicians and other elected officials. Stay active in the fight to save our country. Over 220 generals and admirals say we are in a fight for our survival like no other time since 1776.

Of course, you would think that.  Putin is all knowing and all powerful.  Why not good?  Wise?  Strategic?

After all, "Putin is smart."

LOL

Putin is DEAD!

Agree!  He will use the nuke threat whenever he needs to scare the West.  A generation or two ago, the west knew they are bluffing.  Even common sense should make this obvious.  MAD worked for many years and I see no reason to suggest it won't continue to work.
