Just to let yall know,I'm still around and happy and life is good here in Georgia. I'm still married to my beautiful Ukrainian wife and we have our first baby due in Oct.   Maxx is right. When things go bad this place can be a painful reminder.

AJ, Zebrazeb I believed move to the Seattle area recently and had anounced get together at his new place. Neo was to get married and get busy with married life. Marty(CG) tends to stay away from these forums but he got into a recent fight with Jack Bragg at RWG. If only those two could make up and become friends, then I'll know there's hope for world peace.

AJ, Marty probably lurks on the forums but you know he wasn't happy with new ownership of RWG and the way the original Mods got the boot. Were you happy? JP paticipates here occasionally and at anti date. Wes is still happily married and posted at RWG today.

AJ, Since you're into riding bikes and my job is dirt, here's a video of a world record jump. I helped create the dirt landing ramp.

I just got an email from Splashmaster(Karl) the other day. They are doing good although since the fall of RWG he doesn't post much anymore & working to much to spend the time. He was my best man when I got married.
He's coming over next month for a visit & his wifes father who I also know quite well is going to Canada to visit sometime this fall. Mom was over last year for about 10 months.
They are all doing well & busy working & raising their two beautiful daughters Anastasia & Tatyana.
Wesley Spence I still hear from on occaission by email or phone. He & Lora just purchased a new home not far from Toronto & are doing well.

Richard,

Good to have news about Karl and Wes.  The canuck guys always seem so much more practical  :D

AJ
Marty still posts on RWG.  He got a couple of yellow cards here for guess what - arguing with Jack LOL!

Ron hardley posts at all now.  Posted on RWG a couple of months back.  I reckon he had enough of the scene as the owner of LTP when he sold that business on he basically ended his involvement with the boards.  He really did KNOW this business. To my knowledge he is still happily married with 3 children.

Bruce (hockybrain) posts here.

I have no idea on squirecam.  Perhaps he gave up the quest?

Maybe Gameranger has grown up and finished college now. He posted wonderful fiction  ;D

I sent a pm to Leslie telling him he was pompous and arrogant and to stop posting in my threads. He in so many words said he can post when and wherever he pleases and I am now on his ignore list.

Dan, you have called down jb several times and I don't remember jb ever saying that someone was a bad person and placing a label on a person because of a prior mistake. jb can see when someone is trying to make a difference in their life.

I forgive people when I see that they can see past mistakes and learn from them as Barney17 has done.

I think Leslie is somehow immune from being reprimanded or he just does not care. I will not forget things he said to people on the board that I like, calling them bad people.

So, since I am on his ignore list he is now on mine and this will be my last post about him.

Clyde, you are one of those guys who wears, as they say, his heart on his sleave, and many of us like that about you. I think it was Turbo who said to be the duck. That would be the live duck, as opposed to the "dead duck." There are a few around here that I would like to place on ignore as well but then again I am sure that the feeling is mutual. Read and learn and learn to ignore.  Now I need to go find Turbo...an excellent RW has just come available and I need to tell him about her.  TURBO!!!

Maybe it's a character flaw to want people to like you and not understand when some people think you are totally evil. And on a forum like RWD I have only met four guys in person who do know me.

It is called "validation" and usually a sign of insecurity.

Clyde!! You are one of the most likeable lads in the room. I'm not talking Brokeback Mountain likeable, make no mistake, but likeable just the same. It is your unfailing honesty that makes it so, in my opinion. There is no character flaws involved. We all long to be accepted in one way or another, even me.

Everyone likes to be liked, that is human nature.  Call it validation if you want.  Well maybe not everyone, not too sure about Leslie.  I think that may not be his priority and I am not saying this in a bad way.

For most of us SOC you are a shining example of a lot of good things.  You are someone who has worked to find happiness and made some major changes in your life.  A lot of your posts have been very helpful at understanding the trials and tribulations we all want to go through.  You have posted a lot of helpful and informative posts.

Most all the guys who really hang around here for a long time strike me as being well above average in intelligence.   I have seen a few who have done brief touch and go's here who did not strike me that way but they don't stay here long.  When someone posts something that is more hurtful and spiteful than insightful and helpful, we all recognize that and we know what the real deal is so don't let it bother you.   Anyone who opens their heart and really talks about what is going on leaves themselves open .  If a Nakhal (sorry, the Russian word for Jerk is the one I am working on learning right now) wants to take advantage of the situation they have that opportunity.  Just let it roll off your back.   We all know the good guys.

billy cool!
the clip wouldnt work for me,
 is that ryan capes jump?

just FWIW-
I work with a lot of those guys often,
and i designed and built the bike for the former world record holder Trigger Gum.
He set a world distance record at 300 feet in Brisbane Australia last year,, busting the heck out of the old 251 foot record!

Heres an article and movie clip of it,,
it also talks a little about the bike i built and modified for him to attempt it..
http://www.lostenterprises.com/prod/newsArtical.php?ID=582

Ryan Capes busted it that recently at 303? or something like that..

Trigger is practicing to retake the record..
here is a shot of him on one of my bikes,
very recently practicing at 250 feet.
he did 19 perfect 250 footers that  morning..
it should be noted that the prior world record of 242 feet lasted for over a decade
So for Trigger to routinely practice at a distance greater than what was ever thought possible even 5 years ago,and many failed at ,
is a testiment to the size of his cajones.

That was Ryan Capes jump at 310 ft. I'm proud to participate in the making of a World record jump but Ryan's a bad boy since he doesn't like to pay his bills.

sorry you dint get paid Billy, weird deal eh?
(i dont know Ryan or the promotor involved..or i'd poke a stick at um to pay up!)

Ryan and Trigger have some *jump off* scheduled in Vegas this year,,
evil kneviel day..
to see who will hold the total distance record afterwards.
300 plus feet is just unreal.. wind drift is a huge factor even at 120'
just hope they both walk away.
Seth (enslow) busted his knoggin on my personal bike a few years ago..
going for the record...200 plus feet-
life flighted out..
even though he knew the risks well,  you always feel a little responcible.
(especially since it was my bike) he ended up with a full recovery.

The title of the thread is "Whatever happened to...?" With that in mind and regarding the above two posts: 1. Whatever happened to Evil Knevil? and 2. Whatever happened to "common sense"?

Sorry for the off topic -

peewee-
Evil , after a liver transplant,
is still kickin around golf courses in Fla. and likely still drinking,,lol
he will be at the jump off event mentioned above, named in his honor.
i'm looking foward to the event.

for more *uncommon sense* stuff,

here is mike metzger VERY recently doing a back flip jump over
the Ceasers place fountains,
the same infamous jump that Evil broke so many bones and landed in a coma attempting years ago..

but Metzger added in the  twist of back flipping the motorcycle in the process. it was a world record distance for doing a backflip on a motiorcycle
and executed perfectly- (nice rear brake tap during rotation  mike lol )

Hello to all the "geezers"..........jb, Maxx, AJ, Leslie  etc. Capt B here. Other than the reasons for leaving the board that Maxx pointed-out......those who complete their mission sucessfully tend to eventually fall-off the radar......or just visit the boards less frequently.  for me.....I still type with one finger......arthritis you know. I always had a good laugh when the younger guys on the RWG voiced their opinions about "geezers". Vika and I will be celebrating our third wedding anniversary in August. Actually the phone converesation I had with jb the other day.....was "three" hours........not
"two" :) I can see that jb is still a "pot stirrer". Probably sitting-back and having a real good laugh at his latest RWD victim. Mean spirited? Not. Frustrated with stupidity.................always. Should he occasionally be banned from this board (and all others).......................probably. Jb and I go back to the beginning of the RWG when their were only about 300 members. Iolani, Gameranger (lol),
Bean, Witchdoctor (Doc Woody), Mark Dayton and many others at LTP.

It was my dream to go to Russia for 25 years before I started this journey. It was all that I hoped for........and more. This is not the easiest......nor cheapest way to find a partner.......just a different path. To those newbies who are counting their pennies.....and complain about the cost of flowers, address purchases etc...................those things are "chump change" compared to what you will eventually spend throughout this process. One trip only.......not likely. Three, four, five......six...............closer to the average. The friends made.......on both sides of the pond...................priceless. I love Russian culture......and Russia's "rough edges"...........just suits my style.

Oh......................and the afforementioned "pot stirrer". He is probably sitting back sipping some
russian "wedding bell" wine.......contemplating his next hapless "Einstein".........and the turmoil he will inevitably cause..............and the inevitable retalliation:) One thing I have learned from the boards........."those people".........actually turn out to be differents  "chaps"........than they let on. I miss "Beans" rants every few months.........too funny! I hope Iolani & wife & child (or children?) are doing fine. My first trip partner......Chuck and his wife......up in Escanaba, MI. RVR & wife. I know jb
& Irina are doing well. I had the good fortune to attend his wedding in Moscow years ago. Standing on the balcony......looking through the glass doors into the dining area of the wedding reception.....with mostly (attractive) women flitting about......drinking champanskya......and a good cigar (I don't smoke....but it did taste good)..........those are memories you keep forever.

Why did I grow tired of the other board? I will illustrate.

Questions asked in the year 2000 on the RWG: Should I write one or many women? Where can I buy reasonably priced airline tickets? Anyone know of a good interpreter in Samara? Should I go it alone or on a tour. And most on the board actually made a trip over.

Questions asked in the year 2006 on the RWG (has it been that long already?!): Do you think a woman with one breast larger than the other...will make a good wife. Do you think the gift of a crate of rose-scented toilet paper would be an accepatable gift to give a Russian women? The tablets of stone are BS......I am special....the exception.....and not like the "other guys". Do you think if I ignore most of the tablets......success will be obtainable? Do you think that I will be hindered by the fact that I dress like a custodian on a date, still live with Mother, am 54 years old and only desire 22 y.o. (or less) "arm candy"? An exageration....you say?! The last question depicted a real person on an LTP tour in Tver.

Alot of "Einsteins" to wade through........but alot of satifaction helping a few individuals to be successful .............along the way. Yes...........even that rabble-rouser jb was a big help many times.......but mostly the support was...........mutual. I think he would agree
