If we got the intent of your posts wrong, I would be interested in more clarification so I can understand where you're coming from.

Here's what I said that got LT fired up: "Even the cynical here would like to live a better life if given the chance. As the situation worsens in Ukraine and Russia, I'm sure more women would be open to leaving. Who wants to live in an environment that's not favorable to raising a family and everyone suffers? Lots of women and men want to leave the situation they're in but they want to find love too. A woman shouldn't be faulted for looking for a better life. Her motives should be questioned though. Is she doing it for love or does she want to use any guy as a step towards a better life?"

I don't know anything about the sex forums so I couldn't say.  I didn't take any post in terms of sex tourism.

Sex forums have nothing to do with the topic. I'm just pointing out to LT where to direct his anger.

I thought it was an interesting thread, but then it was taken off course by the usual guy who reads too much into stuff, extrapolates and then throws out a bunch of insults to everybody who does not agree with him (and in this case it's nearly everybody on this forum).

Questioning the motives of the thread is okay, even a normal part of the discussion.  But keeping it civil would preclude making statements such as "why not look for sex in a morgue" etc.  Pretty tasteless stuff.

Clearly there might be members of both sex who might try to take advantage of economic disparity, and usually they end up deserving each other.

Relationships should always be based on mutual love and respect.  In my case it's not the right time to be travelling to Ukraine, and it has nothing to do with the war, the bad economy, etc.  It has to do with work and other commitments.

When I do travel it won't be because of economic reasons, it will be because it's the right time.

Well, alrighty then.

Reading through the conversation, it looked like women being more open to leaving was part of the allure.  I can accept it wasn't intended that way and I apologize for my misunderstanding.

As we say on the streets, my bad.

I find your use of economic language in reference love and war regrettable and in poor taste.

Surely now you must concede the spirit of this thread is confused in its execution.  Will you not concede culpability in that confusion or is that my fault too?

My remarks did not name anyone by name.  I do not know why the learned gentlemen would take offense at remarks that did not name them directly.  Perhaps they can clarify how they arrived at this conclusion.

The only proper answer to "why not look for sex in a morgue" is "look you interfering bastard, leave any discussion of my ex-wife out of this!"

Film Critic: 'It is like being in a candy store'

Ukrainian women marry and deceive U.S. men in the documentary "Love Me," released in Kyiv on March 11. The U.S. premiere took place in April 2014 and received good reviews.

Its author, American director Jonathon Narducci, spent three years shooting real stories of Western men and Ukrainian women as they search for love. Narducci teamed up with Ukrainian field producer Nadiya Parfan to create “Love Me."

Following the U.S. men in their search for brides overseas, the director explores why they want a Ukrainian woman for a wife.

“Western men are searching someone from the 1950s who will be submissive and serve them," the director said at the premiere screening in Kyiv on March 11.

Now with despair and death, inflation, maybe more women will be willing to take up with a foreigner as a means of escape?  Is that the meat of this thread?

No.  That was simply the situation when you were looking.

I watched the trailer.  One of the women - "Everyone chooses their means of survival."
Hardly a ringing endorsement for love.

Guess again.  When I met Bets, the grivna traded at 8 to 1.  And unlike Humbert Humbert, Betsy graduated Middle School.

If that's their take on UA women then they never spent any time in UA or talking to the women..  That sounds like media hype only!

I don't think it is media hype.  Reading forums tells me that this is what many men are looking for, or at least, think they are looking for.

I'm sure the volunteers were told "We'll put you in a good spotlight. This time is different."

Here's something out of that link that didn't surprise me; "But for Bobby, an avid video game player, the trip was a disaster – the woman with an appearance similar to Angelina Jolie's didn't show up for a date after Bobby wasted $10,000 corresponding with her through the agency website."

Being a video game player, Bobby should be used to hearing "Game Over". We could have saved him a lot of money and helped him find a real woman if he came to the forum and got educated. We'd even suggest a back up plan but after $10,000 worth of correspondence, he was sure Angelina Jolie was "into him".

. . . he was sure Angelina Jolie was "into him".

Well she was; with reference to his pocket.
A beautiful woman is pleasant to look at, but it is easier to live with a pleasant acting one.

Watched the film last night with my "mail order wife" and thought it was fair. She felt similar. Suckers and successes. At one of the big cattle calls an interpreter said maybe only 10 % of the women were for real. Not that the others were bad but it was a free party after all.
