I was thinking of the asshole MP who walked out on the Afghan vets. The vets crying out for help and in the end killed themselves. 
 It's pathetic treatment. With Herr Harper at the helm I have little doubt that I'm thinking of that one vet who shamed MP MacKay into giving him his benefit cheque only to have the vet refuse it unless his brothers in arms also got theirs.Peter MacKay stepped aside to salvage his future in politics.

The New Veteran's Charter (Canadian Forces Members and Veterans Re-establishment and Compensation Act) was conceived and tabled by a Liberal Government. The Conservatives inherited it.

1. This is how the majority of Veterans in this country really feel (or at least practically every Vet I know)...

Indeed. I was approached at a Veteran's group meeting for a program I was originally part of a panel of and was sponsoring.

After I made my position clear (I had no beefs with VAC or how the Conservative government was handling the portfolio). The individual became quite aggressive insisting that I couldn't be a client of VAC or I wouldn't be defending the program (and by extension the government).

I showed him my VAC Identification Card...He could not reciprocate. I don't believe he was client of VAC although being critical of the program and government.

..."But this time PSAC insisted it is not funding ABC. But a PSAC spokesman acknowledged Clarke was a veteran they did fly in and put up for a video testimonial on its web site."...

..."Clarke on social media has revealed ABC is receiving funding from “unions” but has not specified which ones."...

PSAC and Clarke are lying. It's common knowledge among Vets PSAC funds ABC.

2. I'm not aware of such an occurrence and I can't find it in cyber space so it could have happened or it might be another one of these rumors that gets started and grows legs. Who knows....

Pretty decent program if you ask me. Retirement benefits for disabled men and women not serving long enough to qualify for a retirement pension (edit: removed as some vets receive a one time payout) and earning loss for part time reservists...Not bad....

But noooo. It's still not good enough...

..."Sean Bruyea, a veterans advocate, says the changes introduced by the Conservatives were done in a hurry to fix a political problem and were carried out with almost no consultation.

“This was a haphazard, ad-hoc, flying-by-the-seat of their pants creation of programs no one asked for, and now taxpayers and veterans are paying the price,” said Bruyea.

Bill, how is any of this worse than what you post here?  While I understand how even the most disgusting American cartoons are protected by the First Amendment, nothing I've seen in this article is worse than some of the stuff you've posted over the last couple of years.  If his own people are prepared to go to such lengths, it is hardly surprising that people in another country will do the same.

I've posted quite a bit of Anti Obama stuff. I don't like his politics. I don't post
racist stuff and that's the primary difference between the Russian cartoons vs
the ones that I post.

On some subjects, like Syria it seems all of the news is biased, so I post a lot of
different articles and hope that the truth will somehow present itself or at least
we can see the different sides to the issue.
