Hey everyone I'm still on my trip, but know quite a few of you are aware of my relationship so thought I would give you a quick update.  I proposed to my Poliska on Sunday and she said yes!  I'll walk you thru everything play by play.  We left our hotel to go to her house and I asked her prior to going was her dad going to be there.  She said he was probably going fishing that day.  I wanted to ask P's dad permission before I proposed.  We arrive at her home and low and behold dad is there.  Well. .....guess what I didn't bring the ring because I didn't think he would be there.   I catch a quick ride back to the hotel, get the ring and go back to the house.  We we're about have cake and coffee, so Polina's dad, sister, brother and very close friends were there.  I had been practicing my speech and marriage proposal in Russian for weeks now.  I had a little cheat note to help me with my speech, of course I was so nervous I screwed up the speech.  Thank goodness P was there to help me.  Her dad thought about it for few minutes ( for a second there I thought he was going to say no) He had us both stand and proceeded to bless both of us and give me his permission.  I thanked him  immensely and gave him a huge hug!  I then turned to my beautiful Polishka and got down on one knee and asked her to marry me I  Russian.  She was completely surprised!  And cried tears of joy!  She didn't answer right away, I think she was in shock.  She said yes and I placed the ring on her finger she was more than excited and happy! 

Okay, I have to get back to my beautiful fiancé! I'll post more when I get back!

Took a lot of guts to do what you did, in Russian Language, so it's very Nice to learn that it payed off (even though I'm sure she would have said yes anyway).

In Ukraine and Russia it is normal to wear an engagement ring or wedding ring on the right hand, not the left.
