Marriage is going great and have no regrets

The title of this thread says it all..Marriage is going great and have no regrets. I've not retired yet, have no plans to and I kinda sorta have to bounce in and out of RWD.

I've been reading some of the threads, and one recent, more or less about when to walk away. I had two failures in Russia over a period of two years that I walked away from before I met the RW I could not walk away from. I rate my two decisions as two of the best things I've even done in my life. I rate the decision to marry my now Russian wife probably at the top of the list as any decision that worked and was meant to be for me.

I feel for certain that if I had not walked away two times and married either of the ladies they both would have ended in a failure once we were married and living together here in the US. My gut feeling has never let me down and I have enough common sense to know when something just isn't right in a relationship.

Did my decisions to walk away hurt feelings? Yes, on both sides, but the heart has a way of mending itself and usually for the betterment of both people involved which it did in my two failures. I hate failures at any level but I learned from those two failures and it gave me more confidence to continue to move forward and not give up on marring a RW.

My first thread on RWD told everyone how I met my now beautiful Russian wife. We're both in our 60's now and she gets more beautiful to me everyday, not only in her outward looks, but how we've grown together during our marriage learning that patience and understanding has been the most important things that have made our marriage as successful as it is. She told me that when she was living and working in Atlanta meeting men was not a problem. Her problem was with the men she had met was being impatient and not understanding that she was different from the women they usually dated.

When we were dating she never once asked me for anything. She told me she carefully watched how I carried myself, how I was always a gentleman to her, how I would listen to her when she had something to say. She told me the one thing that really impressed her I always took the time and patience she needed for her to make decisions that were important to her in our relationship and not just try to hurry up let's get this done.

She is an awesome wife, an awesome grand mother to my daughters children and my daughters have much respect for her and she is loved by all that knows her here.

Two times I walked away from relationships in Russia. No more spending all my time there in shopping malls, no more going by travel agencies and saying no. No more feeling like this just isn't right for me even though both ladies were beautiful beyond imagination. I was beginning to say no all the time and I was beginning to dread the long flights from Atlanta knowing I was returning back into the same situations I had left before.

You can say no and walk away even though it hurts and you've invested $1000's of dollars in a relationship or in my case two relationships.

I warn you though from experience, there could be one of those ladies you can't walk away from and where you meet that lady may surprise you as what happened to me. I met my now beautiful Russian wife on a Delta flight back to the US leaving Russia from saying no and walking away.

+1 agreed.  There are lots of guys (me included, in my past ) who have ignored the red flags or gut feelings when it comes to dating.  That guy feeling is not one to be ignored fellas, your "spidey senses" are trying to warn you of danger ahead.  Don't be foolish and disregard them for fear of losing the girl.  It takes a lot of courage and self awareness to realize someone isn't right for you.  It doesn't make them a bad person (well sometimes they are lol) or you a bad guy, just means that you two aren't the right ones for each other.  Chooter was wise enough to do so and its paid off for him in spades.  Maybe there's a guy that's in a situation right now that reads this thread and realizes he's making a mistake, thanks again for sharing.

Id like to take my wife to one next year but cant find much information to see if there is going to be one around me Hampton, Va area.

Also are there conferences that deal specifically with one topic or do they all basically cover both?

Thanks for letting me know and I gave him no information other than you're pretty much on your own. My mind couldn't think of doing anything like that and if I could I certainly wouldn't do it. We also own a web hosting company and it's a full time job trying to keep the ddos attacks stopped, hackers, spammers. spoofers and phishers attacking our servers. My wife had to block all of Russia's and China's ip ranges and that stopped about 75% of it when she did.

Cyber warfare..give it time to load then sit back and watch the "sheet" flying all over the world. We also have another monitor that runs slower so we can pin point more closer and slower and has more tech things on it. Sometimes you can't see the maps so many attacks are taking place.
