Isn't this the same guy that came to this forum because he was curious about the former Soyuz and wanted to learn more?

It seems to me that now the birds are shooting at the hunters.  ;)

Yep, he was interested in international love or something like that.  Now he is telling people who have experience dealing with Ukrainians they don't have a clue.

Maybe you didn't read LFU post, where he says the woman could have moved?  The guy deliberately brought his ghetto blaster closer to them.

I believe he meant she could have moved before confronting the felon.
After the fall of communism, the biggest mistake Boris Yeltsin's regime made was not to disband the KGB altogether. Instead it changed its name to the FSB and, to many observers, morphed into a gangster organisation, eventually headed by master criminal Vladimir Putin. - Gerard Batten

Yes, that was what I meant.  I thought it was obvious.  I didn't even use sarcasm.   :P

So does what originally got me interested in this forum limit what I can post about now?  If so remember the first thing was politics and the Russian and Ukrainian disputes over Crimea and Eastern Ukraine.  So now is that all you think I can comment on?  Whip me up a list of what you think I should be allowed to discuss and I will file it with my other important papers.

You are right you can always run.  Cowards do it every day.  But it is a public beach like you say.  That means she had the right to be there too.  The felon did not have the right to be drunk and disorderly, to play loud music with profanity in it, or most definitely to physically assault the woman.

I find the guys who are quick to say the would fight are typically the people full of shit. :)

I think everyone here agrees no one has the right to physically touch another.  That isn't the argument and was never the argument.

Do you personally pretend to be a cop and tell others of their rights?  I bet you don't and this incident shows it's better to call the cops and let them handle anyone breaking the laws.

Quote

I don't follow the rule of running.  If a loud mouth drunk blares profanity when my grandchildren are near I am going to confront him.  Now I am not tough, but I am harder to whip than some small FSU mom.  If you want to spend your life running, do it.  It is always easier for some people to run, but not me.

Yeah, we get it, you're a tough guy.

Quote
That has nothing to do with my original question.  I still don't understand looking for mitigating circumstances to excuse the criminal and feeling no sympathy for someone attacked by a drunken felonious thug.  Despite what Bo says, it is hard to empathize with someone you feel got what they deserve and have no sympathy for.  Bo indicates the woman's response was wrong.  Then claims she has the ability to put herself in the woman's, position and understand her feelings.  I doubt it.

It sounds like you are mad because Bo didn't respond to your liking.  You got control issues if that bothers you.  As I said, you really don't know how she asked or even if she did ask.  I have seen enough to understand there is a good chance she was more demanding and not so much asking.

Quote

I don't care whether she was uppity or not, bossy or not or demanding or not.  The minute he put his hands on her, there was no excuse and it wasn't her fault.  I don't excuse rapist because women wear high heels and short skirts and I don't excuse drunken felon woman beaters because the woman was uppity.  Lots of wife beaters blame their uppity wives and claim they were just driven to hitting them.  That doesn't cut it with me either.  There is no excuse for striking anyone, especially a woman.

Now you are trying to say this is similar to rape?  Serious, just stop.  Moving away from someone because you don't like their music isn't anything like being raped.

Quote
I didn't twist a thing and you know it and so does Bo.  She has some resentment about certain classes in the FSU, and some prejudice about a woman she has never met.  She implied the woman somehow got what she deserved.  That's despicable.

Yes, you are twisting everything.  No, she said she had no sympathy for a woman putting herself and her children into harms way when it could have been avoided.  I understand you allow your own ego to dictate your actions, but when you get knocked out I wouldn't have sympathy for you either.  You wrote a ticket you couldn't cash partner.

As to why I am here.  It is because I want to be.  The more important question is why do you care?  My opinions are mine and mine alone.  Bo said it herself and I will refer to it again.  I am free to post when and where I want.  And I point out, you are free to just skip my replies.  As to my arguing.  It takes two to argue, so you are too.  Also it appears to be just the same people over and over that like to argue with me.

Dude, you don't know enough about some of these topics to get into an argument about.  You are even shelling out advice to guys when you never made a trip.  Hell, you are supposedly a happily married man to an American woman.

No, I am not skipping anything.  I will call you out every time I see fit.

Maybe where you come from.  Here I find most people stand up for themselves whether they feel they are tough or not.  Around here people don't like to feel like they are helpless victims.  Also around here, that guy would have been fighting a crowd the minute he hit a woman.

Yeah, we get it, you're a tough guy.

Nope, but I am not a coward either.

Didn't say it was.  I said blaming her for confronting the guy is like blaming a sexy woman for being raped.  It is stupid and wrong.  The fault lies with the lawbreaker.

So?  Traveling overseas doesn't make you smart.  People can be smart and have common sense whether they travel or not, and can be pretty damn dumb even if the are well traveled.  I never advised anyone on the woman's thoughts, just on common sense things you don't need to travel to know.  And unlike a lot of phony posers, I stated right up front who and what I am.  So people can weigh that right in when they decide to accept or ignore my advice.

Good.  That is exactly how I feel.  That is why I said it was your choice, instead of telling you what to do.  But it takes two to argue.  So like I said you are free to skip my post if you want to.

Who are the phony posers?

For what it's worth, most posters don't read a poster's history.  LFU knows yours because he was here when you first started posting, I suspect.

I believe LFU was referring to this post -

http://www.russianwomendiscussion.com/index.php?topic=19806.msg409580#msg409580

And I would say no, common sense won't necessarily tell you if a woman is genuine.  There are countless stories on this forum, and elsewhere, of men who believed they had found the real deal, and posted about their true long lasting love, right up to the day she tells him she is leaving him.  In many of those cases, it is right after (take your pick):

a)  she obtained a green card (though rarer now);
b)  she completed her education and is self supporting;
c)  her lover (often, impecunious) on the side was discovered;
d)  his financial situation deteriorated; and/or
e)  his health deteriorated.

Where I am from, you realize even if you win you could lose it all.   Anytime a fight happens anything is possible including being sued to killing someone.  It isn't worth throwing away your whole life for a ego boost.  I guess some people have inadequacies they can't get over and need to prove something.  People are better off calling the police and let guys like Tag take care of it.

Where did it say he hit the woman?  I saw he grabbed and pushed her.  Will rape be next?

I hope it was worth scaring her kids and getting roughed up in order to be "right".  I certainly hope you don't put your own grand kids in jeopardy because of your insecurities.

Yeah, common sense stuff when talking about a completely different culture.  See Bo's comments on why your common sense may not really be that helpful.
