for what its worth I'm pretty much in the same spot as you.  I am going to forget writing to them as it doesn't seem to work too well (maybe because I refuse to lie). . . anyways just find a way to get over there.  I'm going to Russia shortly and will meet with just one girl who is only a friend as my starting point.  I'll let you know if I wish I wrote a bunch of girls beforehand and you can learn from my experience.   

I have a feeling you are probably able to pick up AW stateside no problem so it should be even easier over there right?  Well we'll see, if nothing else it will be a fun vacation...and definitely more worthy of my time than writing 500 emails.

Glad you recommended " a pretty woman" site Captmonk1.  It looks like a decent site with some room for 56 yr old + guys (like me-ha!)to meet up with a 10 to 20 year difference. I had signed up for a year and look forward to lots of e-mailing , and writing.   jj

I think jb was holding back a bit when refering to the "puzzle." Come on, you have dated 50-60 women and can't find the right one? What is the "perfect woman" you talk about? Do you not know that such a woman does not exist?  Have you ever been married before? It doesn't make any difference what level of perfection you find, you will still encounter situations in a marriage that will take away from that fantasy level of perfection you have your sights set upon. That's when committment kicks in that stems from love. I think if you find the perfect woman, you will be surprised to find out after living with her for a while that she's not as perfect as you thought in the beginning. So, is the answer to move on until you find the real perfect one? You will spend your whole life searching. FSUW are still women and are not the answer to "lack of perfection."

I have sometimes thought that my perfect woman would be me in drag. There is no woman that will be perfect enough to suit me so I go for the compatible one. Attractive, smart, has a job, not fat, no large ass, shapely legs, funny, is willing to do some of the things that I like to do, does not have small children or mammals. Mammaries are ok but mammals are not. if she can get most of those requirements then she stays in the hunt, if not then I kick her to the curb. I figure that any woman that is willing to attempt to put up with me and my antics, and pro football and drag racing, then she be worth my time because she has certainly demonstrated that I am worth her time.

Keith, there is alot of excellent advice above. 

Remember, if it looks too good to be true it probably is......................ie. the hot looking girls you are drooling over on the major websites are just photos of models that do not exist in real life.  If you are writing one or more of these hot to trot girls you probably are corresponding with a girl who is not the girl you believe you are writing to but a young FSU girl studying English who gets extra dollars from an agency for each letter they write to you concerning XYZ hot to trot girl you think you are corresponding with. 

This is true many times...but some times it happens the opposite. 
One very pretty Ukrainian girl decided to contact me first. Wrote a couple of very interesting mails, but because she is in one of those token sites with a bad reputation I almost forgot her. Then she contacted again asking "why don't you write?". Then she told me her name, and the type of work, she did. After a fast search on the Internet I found her e-mail and guess what? It was all true.
Then I thought, well maybe she is very different from her photos. After watching her on a webcam, I fall from the chair, the girl is even prettier

$5k/month dating in DC...I thought it was a expensive in Boston where I was spending $1-2 K/month.  Seriously, if you can afford $5k/month, write a few woman on the sites and get on a plane and take a vacation.  One piece of advice, if you are spending $5k/month in dating here, you might want to tone things down when you meet women in the FSU.  Most of the things that Kate and I did for the first several trips involved very little cash.  For that matter, they still don't.  For example, a nice walk in the park followed by a ferris wheel ride to view the city.  Checking out a museum.  Even a night at the ballet only set us back $5. 

I used elena's and had a similar experience to others who have already replied.

You are a visit many guy. Find a nice size city, one week before you travel write to 50-100 girls asking them
if they would like to meet for coffee or tea. Size the girl up. Is she interested in you? How is her body language?
Are you interested in her? If she isn't an excellent candidate for spending the rest of your life with then dump
her then move on. If you don't feel a connection, dump her and move on. Lather, rinse, repeat.

I never spent a dime on such;  only searched the free sites and match websites that had monthly memberships of $20 or less for unlimited contacts.
