Air Quality in Kyiv
« on: September 03, 2015, 01:00:30 AM »
Among other things the air quality here is very poor. Schools are closed for two days. I can't even see the hospital across the street. The normal for this time of year is about 11% above safety standards. Today we are 18% above last weeks reports. I copied just one of the articles this morning FYI.

In GSCHS named data on air pollution in Kiev
Today, August 3, Kyiv concentration in the air is 4-5 times higher than the permissible norm.

It is reported by the press service of the Ukrainian GSCHS.

The service said that the increase in allowable concentration in the air is not associated with the burning of peat in the Kiev region and the fire in the Exclusion Zone and unconditional (obligatory) resettlement.

"These figures are recorded in connection with the huge amount of road transport in Kiev and abnormal heat is the norm for this time of year," - said in a statement.

According GSCHS exceeds the rate of carbon monoxide concentration in air is 3 mg / m. cu. Nitric oxide is 5 times and 6 times formaldehyde.

Recall, Kiev, after several days of interruption of the time the last fires of peat bogs in the area of Buchi again tightened smoke.

The SEC asked the people of Kiev not to go out without extreme need on the street, close the windows, use only air-conditioning systems regularly wash your mouth and nose, often take a shower (more than twice a day), wet cleaning, not to travel unnecessarily.
