Bump,

Don, found his girl years before me. Various FSU wives that met me throughout the years
wanted to fix me up. In my experience, the only way something like that works is if they
don't fix you up with one of their friends, but you meet a girl at their wedding, a social
gathering, etc.

Women suck at fixing people up. They look through their group of friends and select their
friend who is the most pathetic and least likely to ever meet any man then try to fix you
up with them.

Instead they should pick out their hottest friend with the best English. They will never
do that.

Too right. I was at my Sister's 40th years ago. I had previously jokingly suggested that she set me up with a hot friend. Anyway, I get to the do and find her outside talking to this nice bit of skirt and think, 'hey she's come up trumps for me here!'

Anyway, then her dude comes over, already taken

Would have suited me perfectly!

Transpires she's only put me on a table with a single fat friend weighing somewhere in the direction of 200kg!!! Possibly more!

She was enormous, thick flab everywhere! Only good thing was she had absolutely huge boobs, like boulders but I wasn't going to venture into all that flab for them. I passed on her and decided to look elsewhere and hence  me arriving on the FSU scene.


Honestly I think it comes down to what women value and what men value. Women think their perennially single friend is fine and can't understand why she is still single or is the only offering they have to offer and hope it will fly even though they know she's pretty crap. Men value other things and when they get offered a woman who is vastly overweight, ugly and/or a walking social disaster wonder what they have done to their friend to deserve such a poor offering.

But yeah unless you get lucky asking another female often isn't going to reap good rewards.

When I was in the Navy as a young teenaged guy, I dated a girl a few times when I was home on leave.
She was a senior in high school and worked at a small restaurant on weekends.
I took my guy friend with me once to go have a lunch there when she was working.
Later, when I was back to my ship . . . she and my friend started dating !!
No biggie for me as we had not gotten serious at all and didn't affect the friendship of we two guys.
Shortly thereafter, my friend joined the Navy and the two of them stayed together (correspondence and home leave) for almost 4 years and planned to marry when his enlistment was up.
About a month before enlistment was up . . . he got the Dear John letter.

Anyway . . . I unintentionally set those two up and it lasted quite a while.

They both married others and have had long marriages.

More recently, a long-time friend of mine living in a not-to-distant state came to stay with wife and I for a week.

A week or so before arrival he asked me to see if I  could find a couple of gals for him.

The pool was really very shallow, but I came up with a couple of long-shots.   (The best gals I knew were married or in long-term relationships.)

One gal was fairly smart with a good job but was short and chubby, so he eliminated her (based on my description) before any meeting.

The other gal was tall like him, had high IQ like him, had two daughters like him, and each had a daughter in PhD programs.  Major drawback . . . she had a huge scar on one side of her face from an auto accident many years ago (I never understood why she didn't have plastic surgery to mitigate the scar somewhat).

Anyway, all went well on our double date for dinner and theatre.
I made sure to sit him on the side away from her scar.
And I suggested to her that next day she take him to a local brewery to do some taste testing (he was into micro brewing) which she did.
I don't know what else transpired between the two of them during his trip.

They met a couple of other times at halfway points between home cities, but it fizzled out.

She told me a couple of times later that she wrote him but that he rarely answered and when he did messages very short.

I told her that I had the same experience with his correspondence.

Luckily, she never brought him up again and he never mentioned her, so  I didn't get caught in the middle wishing I hadn't introduced them.

On a semi-related note: Before some of my WMVM trips, some guys here contacted me privately to suggest we meet up while in FSU and spend  some time together, maybe find some gals for double dates, etc.

I replied:  No way;  I have all my gals already lined up and I am not going to spend any valuable time with a guy !

If you want to meet short, ugly, angry, fatty's let one of your buddies wife or gfs fix you up. 
If you are a young single guy (nobody reading this forum is a young man). Occasionally you
can bail out one of your buddies by agreeing to help get the hot girls, plain Jane c%ck
blocking girl friend out of the way. My friends would still foul it up at least 50% of the
time.
