I guess the question is: is it ethical to do this? On one hand it's not really deceptive if you tell them your outlook from the start. On the other hand, what do you do in this situation? It would be a massive slap in the face for them. "Go home - no kids for you.".

We're human, not perfect. It's not evil to change your mind or your heart. As long as you and the lady you met agree you don't want kids going into marriage, that's all you can ask for when it comes to the issue pertaining to kids. You or her changing your minds is unknown since you don't know what the future holds. The very strong desire of one spouse to have kids later in life have broken up marriages between couples who originally agreed not to have kids. For most people, kids are more important than the spouse.

Note:  This same thing happened to the now departed Jack Bragg.

i.e. Later his Ukrainian spouse wanted children.

He didn't at age late 50s or beyond.

I am not sure about the case of Ken C.  Seems his young wife wanted out when he had a serious illness.  I don't remember it being about her wanting children.

But this is just my memory.  Others probably know more.
A beautiful woman is pleasant to look at, but it is easier to live with a pleasant acting one.

Sorry I should have expressed myself more clearly. I wasn't saying that it might be unethical for a girl to change her mind.

I'm saying it might be unethical for me to not change my mind 5 years in if she wanted kids.

If you're honest with the lady that you don't want kids before marriage, it's not unethical for you to maintain your position should she change her mind and want kids later in life.

Does every RW want children?
« Reply #30 on: August 18, 2024, 10:30:45 AM »
I have a dilemma... finding a RW would be a dream come true for me, and at this point it's feeling less and less like a pipe dream.

However: I don't particularly want kids.

Are there any RW that don't want kids? What are some possible resolutions here? Or is this just something that's not possible?

Obviously, mentioning this outlook to them BEFORE marrying would be a good idea.

YES! They ALL DO, You are pursuing the wrong girls. The only course of action is to date older women with existing children
who do NOT want more.

Was sorta my point. If someone wants they can find.
People can speculate all they wish about age, what ifs,
big clocks etc, etc, etc. No one knows for sure.
Women may change their mind on children, they also may
change their mind about many things. No guarantees :)

Such is life.

Yes,

However, 100% of them can change their mind. One guy here at
the very forum was married for over 10 years and then his wife
changed her mind. Now he has a different wife.
