Canada-Russia in Barcelona
« on: October 22, 2015, 06:35:13 PM »
Following recommendations from folks here, in August I subscribed to Elena's and met an extraordinary Russian woman. Last weekend, after months of correspondence, Skype, messages and phone calls, we decided to meet in Barcelona, this was simple for both of us. I needed no visa and she already had a valid visa for Europe. All of this to say that we have had an amazing time, I cannot believe how nice this was. I had tons of great Canadian gifts with me for her and her family and she did the same. It was an unforgettable experience that will continue as we have very beautiful projects together now.

I want to say thanks to the folks here who gave me tips and others who participated in threads where I read very useful information and especially to user OSO who was a real mentor to me! Thanks man!

Attached are a few pictures from a photo shoot we did in Barcelona’s Gothic quarter.

Without this site, this would have not been possible for me.

Many thanks

Pat

Congrats bizpat and good for you both. You two are a great looking couple. More proof that those that attempt to do their homework/due diligence can come out on top. My advice though is that while you both enjoyed yourselves (apparently a lot). It's easy to do on a holiday vacation. I know as I did it myself. Now get to work on the relationship. Make your next visit in her city. Learn about her, her family and her environment.

Good luck there guy!

Congratulations Pat.  You and your woman are a beautiful couple.

The fact that she brought interesting gifts for you shows she is serious and thoughtful..  Bringing gifts tot a meeting is a Russian tradition.

Barcelona is a delightful city.  Good choice.  Impossible in such a place to not have a splendid time.   I second Faux Pas's advice that your next trip should be to her city to meet her family and friends.   Have you been to Russia before?

I am certain you will have some questions as your relationship progresses.  We are here to help.

I'll add my best wishes to those of everyone else, but weren't you lucky to find such a wonderful Russian photographer living in Barcelona?  I had a look at her website - there are some really stunning photos there (and with prices to match!).

Thanks everyone for the kind words. Next step is indeed for me to go to Moscow. We are already looking at the planning of this trip.

My fiancé found her online and we booked the photo shoot in advance. The photographer was amazing, in fact they are a couple from Russia who moved to Barcelona for doing just this and 95% of their clients are Russians. I was surprised by the number of Russians in Barcelona, my fiancé was constantly hearing tourists speak Russian. The pictures were shot between 8 and 9h30am in the Gothic quarter which was perfect because at 10am the place was already packed with tourists
