Darth,

A "few weeks" is a long time.  It demonstrates a high degree of commitment.  Enjoy your time together.

My friends have offered to pick up me and my girl in Kiev... on our way to the center of the country..

I am thinking of taking them up on that offer...  He has a good system in his car... Listen to some tunes...

Maybe we can take a few pit stops,,, take some more pictures...

Road trips are fun. Get to see parts of the country most tourists never see.

and many roads are an experience of itself... unless you go by the ones that have seen repairs in the last century, which most haven't  ;D

Kiev to Sumy - 300 km  - 6 bone shaking hours, potholes that looked like a grenade had made them.
Kiev to Dnipropetrovsk - 450 km  - 9 long long long bone shaking hours, maybe we took the wrong route, but the surface was.. like a teenagers face, all bumpy.
Kiev to Zhytomyr - 150 km - 2 hours - smooth as a baby's bottom and 3 lanes all the way (thank you European Championship in Soccer for that)
Multitasking means screwing up several things at once.

Yes-you were on wrong road if it was in the last  12 months.
Basically the road  to Poltava  ( a substantial  part of the way to Dniprp)  is now western quality freeway( except it allows U-turn !! and has pedestrian crossings on 130kmh speed zones !!).Most of it is now finished or close to finished . Perfect surface and high average speeds possible. Even the older linking road  to Dniprp is reasonable.

The way  you probably went  the road is  road  basically down the western side of the Dnieper is shorter in distance--but as you found much longer in time-- although  not nearly anything like your 9 hour sojourn !( under 6 hours ) While sections of the road are very bad-- there are far worse roads not far away!!

I like how drivers here drive in the oncoming traffic's lane if it's smoother than their lane. Whatever it takes to save their suspension and bones.

I decided to stay another week and a half...

I was having to much fun....

I had a interesting discussion...

First off,,,  as has been stated many times on this site..

Girls on these internet sites are paid, for talking to men...
They are fined if they don't talk to all men..
When they leave they are also fined...

If they tell the truth to men they are also fined or fired...
They are told to lie about their work experience and language skills...

On lower quality sites,, You may even be talking to a man...
My friend has done this in the past for extra money...

I have been told this directly by a girl and a guy that has done this work in Ukraine...

Now lets be clear... Ukrainians are great people..  It is just a very poor country with few opportunities and even fewer laws...
Were police are easily bribed and you can buy a hitman for a few hundred Grivna..

Their marijuana sucks, or has other drugs added to it...
Cocaine sucks,,,
And most of the alcohol are fakes...
Due to very few copyright laws...

It honestly reminds me of my own town in New York..

except the drugs are better and the alcohol is real.

Behind every corner is a internet scam...

But with all that being said..
I have made some very good friends..
And I plan on starting a business... in town..
and I will most likely retire here...

Okay I am off to the sauna,, with my friends...

There are many stories like this and there have been men trading love letters with Ivan, the employee of the month. It's a reason I tell guys best to avoid agencies, even those recommended since they could be wasting months of their lives, not to mention money, chasing things that aren't real.

Soon Trip 3....

Visa is almost done...

The wait sucks....

We almost have all the documents ready to call for Medical and embassy appointment..

I need to do more research.. To see if it would make sense for me to fly to Ukraine and go with her to embassy appointment..
Wait for the yes,, than get 2 tickets to Montreal " More research needed,, Transit Visa"  or New York CIty... maybe be we can stay with some family in Yonkers for a night...

Any one have experience with getting Canadian Transit Visa's?

I flew to my wife's interview in Kiev. Not sure how much it actually helps with the approval, but it definitely made her feel more at ease and that I was there by her side for support. The gentleman performing the interview also saw us together and asked us easier questions than the ladies who were there alone. All ladies but one passed in our group anyways.

What visa was that for specifically? We're going together to Kyiv this week for her U.S. Tourist Visa interview on Friday. My understanding is that not only will my presence not help her chances, but I won't even be let into the interview room with her.

We filed K1 or Fiance VISA.

For tourist VISA there should be no connection to a man in the country she is planning to visit. It shows there are intentions other than tourism. It would be a mistake to even mention you exist.

You being there or the knowing about you will 'almost' guarantee denial.

Read the website for US Embassy Kyiv.
There are words something like "Interview officer is to assume that the applicant for tourist visa is actually planning to overstay the visa and permanently live in USA.  The applicant needs to overcome this assumption."

Interviewing officer knowing about you . . . will only help him/her deny the visa application.

This is entirely different from the Fiance Visa interview.  In that case they know she is planning to stay in USA and she has been more thoroughly vetted with medical, police report, background check,  financial reports and guarantees on husband-to-be, etc.
