This is what a scam email looks like...
« on: March 30, 2016, 08:06:19 AM »
I am pretty certain that this is the start of a scam.
I started email communication with Svetlana(name Changed) and then I get this email:

I'm little sad not to hear from you(
but i hope you will make my mood better and we will be in touch)).
 i have to tell you
I had great dissapointment.. so sad
i tried to fix it many times but
 my computer though cracked yeasterday(((
and i am now without any connections — i hate this..
 sorry for my angry...
thank god i found some solution for now
i saw some internet agency not far from my job
and they allowed me to use their internet to write you this letter
more over they helped me with translation)) so nice people
it turned to be like marriage agency and they told me that
i can speak here with you even on video and they help me to translate
and i saw how some couple was there )
like they were arranging even meeting or date for them.
anyway i registered there to be in touch with you
until i will get new comp
i don't want to lose you because of this technik break(
so they will send you invitation on email
and we'll see each other there))

No, I actually met her on a paid dating site.  I do not want to post the name of the site because these kinds of women are on all the sites.  I just wanted a few of the newer guys to see what a scammer email looks like in order to protect them a little.

Just spill the beans, if it was a PPL there would be no hesitation.

I met her on Brides and Lovers, but I know that these kinds of women troll all the dating sites.  I am sure her profile is being managed and paid for by this so called dating agency that she speaks of in the email traffic.

The situation seems fabricated, but is it a scam?    Or is she simply working to get you do join another agency, who pays her a finder's fee?

A scam would involve you sending money for something that does not exist or will not happen.

Computers do break, yes.

Yes, computers do break, but going to a dating agency to reply back to me??  It sure looks fishy?

Why even dwell on it? There are plenty of other women out there. Move on and forget about this one....

An agency would be free, an internet café not free.  Are internet cafes still prevalent in the FSU?

To support your position, I imagine most women with a broken computer would ask to use a friend's computer.

Please report her to Sandro.  Sandro has answered a public service calling by maintaining for 10 years  a list of what he calls Double Dealers.  Lots of titillating photos, with some double D's.

I agree that most women would just ask to use a friends computer, so going to any dating agency looks suspicious.  I will get in touch with him and let him know.  The only reason I put this up is I saw a post awhile back about a guy asking how do you know if you are being scammed??  So, I thought this might help a few guys out with some subtle things to look for.  I get that there are different levels of scams from small to big with everything in between.  We have to think smart and be cautious it is a jungle out there.

I did not see any my last trip and that was years ago. All the cafe's have free wifi.

She probably lost her job trying to fix her computer.  Better send her some money so she can pay some rent this month.

Probably also a good time to pay her in advance for Granny's illness and hospital stay she'll have later this month. Those medical expenses can impede communication   :-X

Why not just send her money for a new I-Phone6 and be done with it.

The iPhone 6 is much too extravagant. She can settle for a 5 because there are lots of shoes, boots, jackets and medical bills to be paid  :)

I thought a scam was a request for money.
I failed to see this in the communique.

Agency girls may switch over to one that pays out a more favorable percentage of letters or chat. They try to move their contacts over. This is what it sounds like to me.

Brides and Lovers. Doesn't SteveBoy of RUA fame run that agency out of St. Pete? I'm fairly certain that's the case.

Wait until you find out which agency she is involved with and then report to Brides and Lovers.
Russian agencies have a way of settling such things more efficient than you. ;)
