Good news for those who love big butts and don't like to travel far for love. Obesity is skyrocketing among women in America according to article below. 40% of American women are now considered obese, not to be confused with those who are considered simply overweight. A 5' 4" (162.5 cm) woman is considered obese when she reaches 174 lbs (79 kg).

I could barely keep from rolling my eyes.
After we left, Ochka asked me what I thought of the woman's comments.

I just looked at her and said:  "Don't even think about it!!"

There are a lot of overweight people that say they are more beautiful inside but I don't think that is true. If a person doesn't care about the health of their own body, their house and family are more likely a mess and they perform worse at work. That's why I'm try to get my weight below 400lbs.

ML, I know you are married to a relatively slender, attractive Ukrainian woman. I have never seen a photo of her, but I believe you when you say she is slender and attractive. FSU women, while they are still living in the FSU ( before they have married a Western Man and moved to his country) cannot afford autos, usually, and thus must do a large amount of walking to get from point A to point B. This is certainly wonderful, as walking / jogging is some of the very best cardiovascular activity there is. (Myself, I jog on the treadmill at my gym a minimum 5 days per week for 60 minutes each session immediately after my weightlifting sessions and it has always helped in keeping me lean). I think this large amount of walking to get to where they need to be, coupled with significantly smaller portion sizes for their meals, both contribute to there being a much smaller percentage of overweight / obese FSU women relative to Western (especially American) women, and hence why so many Western Men prefer the appearance of FSU women to Western women.

ML, since your Ukrainian Wife moved to the US (I believe I read ya'll have been married for about 2 years? So I assume she has been living in the US for about 2 years?), have you found she has put on a significant amount of bodyfat? Or only a little bit of bodyfat? Or (hopefully) virtually no bodyfat? If she has put on virtually no bodyfat, the only plausible explanation I can come up with for that is that she is aware she needs to continue to walk/jog/exercise several days per week in order to keep her weight down. Do you find that having a FSU Wife....do you have to give her a kick in the rear-end to get her to exercise? Or is exercise something she does of her own accord, without needing any active encouragement from you, because she is proud of her slender figure, and she has pride in how she looks, and thus does not want to look like the "typical" US Woman?

It has gone through my mind many times that the FSU woman I will marry will certainly be very skinny and tiny while she is in the FSU, and at the time of our marriage. But I worry that once we marry, she will pick up on all the terrible habits of US Women, and she will lose her "FSU woman body" and acquire an "American Woman body".

She is still about the same weight as when she came to USA nearly 5 years ago.  However, her 'force feeding' of me has caused my weight to go up 10 pounds or more.

Problem now is that she gains 5-10 pounds when she is in Ukraine for a month as she is now.  Her mother 'force feeds' her.

And she gains weight during winter here in USA.  Works most of it off in spring when gardening starts . . . but not all.

It is, and will be, a continuing problem.

But she is doing better than most FSUW who tend to pork up quite a bit when they live in USA.

I have only three data points, so this may not be true for most. I dated three fsuw here before beginning my fsuw search. All three remained slender, even though one had been here for more than ten years and one for more like twenty years. I don't think they walked as much as people walk in fsu. But they didn't eat like most AW typically do.  One would order a meal at a restaurant and take half of it home for later. One would suggest that we split an appetizer.

Oh, and although it's not exactly on topic, none of them whacked their hair off.

I can also only speak for a limited number of women I know here. Most RW have remained very slender, being very careful about their diet. A number of them are actually more slender than they were in Russia. Either from eating healthier organic foods here or intense workouts like crossfit and yoga. This may have been triggered from a slight initial weight gain upon arrival.

RW just seem to care more about their appearance and some are slightly vain which keeps them on their toes. They are usually the ones to prod their husbands to eat healthier and go to the gym.

Most of the RW still walk more than their American counterparts, but not as much as back home.

We have met some RW who did gain a bit of weight when arriving here. Children or poor eating habits usually the culprit.

My wife has been here 5 years and weighs about 7 pounds more than she did when she arrived. Most of that has been recent with her job. Poor sleep and eating habits on the job are to blame. Eating in a restaurant at 1 am after a 7 hour flight makes it hard to eat healthy and go to the gym. The American women she works with pack on 10-15 pounds the first month or two on the job.

The woman in those particular photos is much closer to what I'd say is ideal compared to many of the much thinner women that others prefer....although I wouldn't begrudge a man for what he considers his personal preference.

Have a good Russian woman friend MD here who practices in Chicago. She maintains Russian women are changing their eating habits as the same junk food as we have makes it's way over there. My wife has to struggle here more than before when she was in Russia. But she manages pretty well. From old pictures she was skinny once but is certainly OK now. I have seen some relatives and women I grew up with turn into real porkers.

My wife loves watching the people who show up at Walmart. Jeez, I hope that show doesn't go world wide. Maybe they will add it to our current American politics ?

I think she has a great face.  My personal physical response to her size is "just OK".

I have been surprised to find that some guys really like a certain "look" that I myself don't find attractive, while on the other hand, girls I would absolutely go crazy over don't seem so special to others.  So I think it is too personal to fall under "science".
