I think it has to do with cultural/linguistic differences/misinterpretations. I can respond to her the way I would respond to an American woman and the AW probably wouldn't give it a second thought. But when my response goes through her Russian mind she sometimes interprets it differently and takes offense at my harmlessly intended  reply. Then brings it up 2 weeks later, at which point I have to explain it in quite some detail and reassure her that no offense was ever intended. As she becomes more familiar with the subtleties of my personality, I believe it will get better.

I've had similar experiences with two girlfriends. When you first hear their reaction you immediately ask yourself what you said that set them off and why it did so. Then you try to explain what you meant and what you didn't mean. Happily, I'm a good explainer and also they don't tend to stay angry for long.

Should a guy target only the average and ugly looking women? I'm not convinced beauty makes a woman bad and not marriage material. Many men feel they don't have a chance with beautiful women so they don't pursue. Makes my job easier in getting dates with those lonely ladies.

I'll clarify; if a girl looks like a professional model check her photos haven't been ripped off someone famous. There are countless profiles with photos of well known models who are too famous to need to go to a free dating site. You can meet such women, but through some high end VIP matchmaker - they're not the sort of women you find on free personals. There are plenty of women in UA who model part time but don't make a living from it, they're fair game, I was just clarifying to make sure you are not writing to Russia's equivalent of a supermodel who is claiming to live with granny in Poltava.

WOW!  Thank you all for the help and advice.  Some really nice and helpful people on here.  My busy work week started this morning so I won't be able to sift through all the replies until this weekend.  However, please don't hesitate to add to the advice.  I'll take it all in.  I just have to chew in small bites.

No, Alex - you're confused!    The oligarch's daughter is the one that he's COMMITTED to NOW.

A lot of the agencies you mentioned earlier are using photos of models without their permission and writing letters on their behalf. Best guys use sites where the ladies get to write their own profiles. Chances increase significantly the lady in the photo is the one communicating with the men.
