Целую = "I kiss you" ( commonly used as a
complimentary closing for correspondence,
and I believe that would also translate
to the French phrase you offered. )

All by itself,

a kiss = поцелуй

kisses = поцелуи

Hope this helps,  Vaughn

Целую is pronounced tsyel-OO-yoo with the accent on the
capitalized letters....

It's difficult for me to hear the difference in the pronunciation
of the other two, kiss and kisses, but they both sound like

pah-tsyel-OO-ee

You guys wanna learn a little Russian? Good show! Michael,
since you're reporting on Paris, this'd be a good one for you to
commit to memory:

Napolean to Josephine: "A kiss on your heart, and then one a little
lower down, much lower down."

Поцелуй на сердце, и затем один пониже, много ниже.
pah-tsel-OO-ee nah SYERD-tsyeh, ee zah-TYEM ah-DEEN
pah-NEE-zhyeh, MNO-gah NEE-zhyeh....

Gawd, I had such fun seducing Elvira!!

I'm learning russian since now 4 months, the woman with who I will spend vacations in one month is doing the same with english .... Last time we have met, we feel attracted by each one but that was really frustrating as we could not talk like we want when we were alone ...So we don't want this to happen again ! Russian is the fourth language I learn (native french, german, english and now russian) and the hardest is to memorize words as except for around 200-300 words, there are no common roots.

Docetae, maybe this will help. I don't know if a French edition is available,
but Marina Frolova's Eng-Russian Phrasebook of Love opened up a whole
world for us when dating/writing/romancing. This wasn't stuff that I picked
up in the Air Force, for sure!

Learn that alphabet, and the pronunciation will come right along...

When it came to comunicating with my last girlfriend in Russia, I found that when we were alone we did much better.  The woman that introduced us was acting as translator too.  This caused problems from the get go.

Though Larissa is a sweet lady and really care to help couples that she introduces.  She is a bit of a busy body.  I got the impression that she was telling each of us (Luda and myself) what she thought we should know and not really what we were trying to say.

Luda's english was about as good as my Russian. Which was poor at best.  But when we sat down with a dictionary and muttled through things on our own we did pretty good.  I happen to think part of our breakup was due to too many voices in the conversations and not enough communication.  But even on the phone, after we got used to each other we muttled through ok.  We did a lot of laughing in the process.

So if you use a tranlator in person, make sure that they are not personally involved on either side.  If you use an online translator to translate your letters, make sure you use two or three different one on each letter,  Sometimes the translations will come out different from each one... Read them all and get the secret decoder ring out and try to find the true meaning of what she says.

That is how I did it.

There's a line an a Chaif song I always remeber....

'Mne Tebya pocelovat''

Great line, great song, here's the full lyrics with chords:

Konchaetsya vek (Ne prospat' by)

Am F7+ C G

Am         F                    C               G
Stoit chelovek, krichit: "Kak zhe tak!" Konchaetsya vek!
Am         F        C             G
A on ne uspel, u nego nichego eshche net -
            Am F          C      G
Nichego eshche net, chtoby vstretit' novuyu zhizn',
  Am             F      C       G
CHtoby v budushchem zavtra zhit' ne tuzhit'.

U nego tol'ko dom, vozle doma pod klenom skam'ya.
U nego v dome pech', v pechi hleb, da po lavkam sem'ya,
U nego synov'ya - vse v nego, i krasavica doch'.
Ran'she vseh v ego dome prosnetsya lyubov'.

PRIPEV:
S                   G
Oj ne prospat' by, ne prospat' by
C              G
List volshebnyj oborvat'
C               G
Rannim utrom v novom veke
C           G
Mne tebya pocelovat'

Am F7+ C G

U nego tol'ko den', da zabot polon rot.
Noch'yu budet on zhdat': nu a vdrug priletit zvezdolet? -
On by ih poprosil, chtoby za noch' uspet'
Belyj svet posmotret', da k utru nazad domoj priletet'.

Pr.

Am F7+ C G

Stoit chelovek, molcha kurit, grustit.
Vot prosnetsya ona, on ee tiho skazhet: "Prosti...
Na nash vek eshche hvatit i smeha, i slez -
Vot, smotri, pochtal'on, kak vsegda, s utra gazetu prines!"

The very first time I tried to kiss my fiance on the cheek(we just started dating), she put up her arms to block me.  I made a little move toward her and she put her arms up going "Nyet, nyet!".  The next time, I told her "paslushaetye!" and waived her closer to me.  THen I laid on a big patsyelui on her soft cheek.  She smiled and laughed saying "trick!".  It doesn't work now. However, I don't need to play tricks to give and recieve kisses.

try this

potseloi menya= kiss me

if you get pass that and want to have her go lower its also used or preferred to suck me or whatever you might use in English, and i say "potseloi menya tuda"... pajahlusta (please) should always be added by a gentleman on both accounts. it will go far to persuade her and will be much appreciated. women here dont SUCK...they kiss.

know your woman as some just want you to kiss them and not ask. theres much to be said here about just taking what you want in this regard and not asking. remember, you're not in America or any comparable place. good luck and peace out.
