confidential connections strikes again

hey gents, 

Been lurking the board for several months and soaking info, and wanted to contribute a little from my trip last week.

I have been to CC office in Poltava about 9 months ago.   I had beeen corresponding with three ladies there and decided to make the leap and meet them, one in particular of course:)  all 3 confirmed to meet me but when I get there only 2 have the time, and the one that I actually had the most interest and corresponded with the most only had time for a quick dinner.   Now I know life can get busy but after all our emails and planning what to do that week i find it interesting that a person whole week would become booked.   

Any way we met for dinner.  I recognized her right away, and tried to give her a hug.  I have been in Artic winds much warmer and receptive than she was.   I think, ok watch yourswlf this is a culture thing.  well to make this short, our meeting was a first meeting.   She did not know anything about me.   She asked where I lived, if I had children, and all the ohter questions that a person should know about someone they had been emailing hot and and heavy for 4 or so months. 

So, the date sucked totally and the CC guy said that she was just nervous and under the weather, and I am like yeah right.  So per someones advice here I had searched through some scammer sites and searched this womans name.  Turns out she was on another agency in town.  The next morning I went there and met with the manger there, andd told them I would like to meet this same lady.  They made a phone call and wouldnt you know she was free for lunch.  She was quite surprised to see me, but she did seem happy to see me.  I got right to the point, and asked the reason for the artic blast the night before, and she did not understand.   I explained to her the progression of our emails for the last months, and she got quite serious and quiet.   She wouldnt answer but agreed to meet that evening.   

We had a nice dinner and after the second glass of wine, shemade me promise not to say anything to anyone.   Turns out she is under contract with CC, as are all the women and if they meet anyone outside CC or discuss CC they will be kicked from the site and face legal action.  What action I could not get out of her.   She went on to say that she had no idea who I was, and had never received a email from me, or sent me one.  So to say the least I am pissed at myself for getting sucked in by cc.   

It also turns out that one of the other gals was also listed on this second agency.   The manager called her, and since she spoke enlish i was able to quickly verify that she had a date with me that evening, but was nervous because we had noth corresponded.  ok, double pissed now:)

fast forward to last week.  So this is my third trip now and I havwe met a wonderful woman there.  We are spending the entire week together and having a blast.   Ok, maybe I need to do  trip report:)   Anyway I get a call from the agency asking if i would be willing to speak to this guy.  I said sure.   turns out he went the same roughly the same road as I did.  I do not know all his details, but he was there to meet a woman he had been corresponding with for a year.   It was his first time to the Ukaine, and boy was he stressed.   Turns out his dream girl was happily married for a couple years now and had a child.   She knew nothing of him and was surprised about the situation.   He had no backup plan and didnt know what to do.   I told him he found a good place and to go through the ladies there, meet a few and go home and write to them and get to know them.  This guy did not take my advice, and was on the plane home the next day.   I understand how he felt.  He had fallen for a real woman, but was led down a false email road.   He effectively had feelings and emotions for nothing.  That is tough.

So, I am a forgiving person, and give the benefit of the doubt, but in this case I must be firm in my opinion:

Confidential Connections is a very good scam, no doubt in my mind.  I have no doubt that all the ladies on thier site are real, but they do not receive your letters.  They manufacture a very good story to you.  So the only thing they may be good for is if you just go there and meet the ladies without emailing them, but then you must not use the site to communicate in the future.  You will just waste money.   By the way, it will cost you $50 to meet a woman from CC plus translation cost.   

Oh, and while I am at it this is not a plug for the other agency, I will do that in another message, but guys always have a BACKUP PLAN.  Both happiness and dissapointment lurk right around the corner.

Confidential Connections is a very good scam, no doubt in my mind.  I have no doubt that all the ladies on thier site are real, but they do not receive your letters.  They manufacture a very good story to you.  So the only thing they may be good for is if you just go there and meet the ladies without emailing them, but then you must not use the site to communicate in the future.  VeteranZebra

Your advice is on target...

Guys, If you use CC, write a few letters, knowing they like will be answered by someone other than the girl you send them to.

But if the girl looks good to you, go to meet her.  And  10 or so more, too!

I dated a CC girl for a year.  But after meeting her, I got her UMC mobile number and home number and yahoo email address.  And that was the end of CC for me.

Even better advice....don't use the CC agency.  Ask the Vets like Zeb and groovstk and they can give you names of good agencies.

Or, get a guide like Pavel in Kiev and just free lance.   You'll be surprised the girls you can meet on the street, at the cafe, and at the disco.

I have heard a lot of good comments about Pavel.  I have never met him but that will change in a few days.  I am coordinating the Kiev part of my trip with him and so far he is doing a great job.  I think zebras suggestion of Pavel might be something you don't want to pass over lightly.

Pavel is more popular than some of the drop dead georgeous gals on big websites.  Tell him I said hello.  I will tell him you said hello when he picks me up at the airport on Saturday.

Yeah Zeb,  You are not alone.  There are many guys who got suckered by CC which is one of the shadiest shyster operations in Ukraine.  It is a reputation they have earned.  Most guys will never know and they will keep writing to their "babe" in Ukraine.
