Grid failure
« on: April 14, 2017, 08:50:36 AM »
Since we seem to be heading to some sort of confrontation in the Korean peninsula, there has been some talk about risk to our electric grid.

Some of us live in cities like myself. I read the article above and it talks of 90% death rate on East coast. Are they talking about people not having food, water, sanitation, etc or some other reason? Yes, the risk of riots. I just need to get my first firearm and stock up on ammunition. ;D

I doubt either NK or Iran can explode a nuclear device in the atmosphere resulting in an EMP over the east coast. But just in case, what are we supposed to do to prepare?

I know I avoid taking unnecessary risks. I am currently prepared with emergency food for 3 months (including ways to cook it if electricity/gas are out) and less than that for water. What else should I or those who think like myself prepare for? What are you preparing for, if at all?
