After working inside the apartment for a spell yesterday and watching slim beauties walking down the street I got stir crazy and had to get out for a bit.

It seems many were dressed more casual than I had heard. Maybe the time of year?

If you are averse to beautiful thin women with striking facial features I strongly urge you to steer clear of Odessa. There are many walking the streets and you would be better off elsewhere. Do not say I did not warn you.

Not having visited the gym in a few days I decided to vet out the local jiu jitsu guys. Found a local one online and although probably not up to the same caliber as those in Florida I decided to pop in.

Was unable to find it walking around, but I did stumble across an old church with an outdoor market. Vendors were selling local trinkets and souvenirs.

Finally relieved of the secks toorist label after visiting holy ground I was now free to explore the city further.

ime the dentist service in ukraine is good , quality is good and price is low compared to western prices

just be aware if you go take your lady [anna ] with you so she can make sure you dont get hit foreign prices 

jay mentioned before to not look like a foreigner ,that is true .     dress like the locals and you avoid alot of attention and move around with less hassles

Last night she tricked me into a visit to her dentist after I told her what we pay as uninsured Americans. My visit is scheduled for tomorrow. Nice thing is the office is literally across the street from my apartment.

On blending in and crime -

A long time friend back home in Lauderdale (although he lives in Adam now) reached out to me for a developer yesterday. I told him I was currently in Odessa, and he said his ex was just here last week for a convention. One of the guys she was with was stumbling around drunk at 6 am and was mugged and severely beaten, so it does happen.

After wandering around taking in sites much of the day Anya finally texted me we met up. She said she was starving so we wandered up the street a bit looking for a place to grab a bite. As we passed a restaurant she looked over and saw what one of the diners was eating. She suggested we walk in.

It was a Ukrainian restaurant called Kumanets. Girls were dressed in traditional clothing with the flowers in their hair and it was on a cozy corner with nice outdoor seating.

Anya wanted me to try local conch. No idea Ukraine had conch and back home we get ours from the Bahamas. The local conch is much smaller, but tasty. We ordered an appetizer to share and one of her girlfriends popped in to say hi quickly.



I also tried some salo for the first time.



They had salo ice cream on the menu, but I we opted for panna cotta and tiramisu with watermelon. Must be watermelon season, because almost every dish used melon as an ingredient. Even the salads, which were excellent. The veal was tough, in the US I would have sent it back.

Total bill for one entree, some apps, salads, etc for three was only 1049 Hrivnas. Not bad at all....

Over dinner we discussed many things. Anya is very proud of her city. She knows Ukraine has issues, but looks past them and towards the future.

I brought up her age, and she smiled at me "agency lies to stupid men". She is 28 years old, and very beautiful. Even as a man, you can tell she spent the day getting dolled up to come see me.

I asked her if she would ever leave and she says no, this is her home. Besides, she tells me I look powerful beside her. On my salary I could live well here she says. The tug of war has begun....

Well I hear even a fair few agency girls want to find Mr right and if and when they do they are prepared to for go the usual scamming carry on. Some men seem to think they will be the lucky ones this happens to and chance it with an agency. Rarely though I hear it pans out for them, they just get scammed. Assuming this is all on the level then perhaps you have been remarkably lucky. Success result I hear is very low at an agency such as you used, what possessed you to give it a go there?

Yeah but for most people AnastasiaDate is the last place to go. Most just regard it as a scam where you pay a lot of money in ppl and are most likely just messaging Ivan. Furthermore they have been many cases of no-shows by women over the years by guys who went to visit them (probably as they had no idea who the hell they were. Others were just taken for a ride on taxi, restaurant & shopping scams. Maybe your girl intended this for you but you hit it lucky as on meeting she was actually attracted to you and she chose to be genuine. I still have my doubts/suspicions and am pretty sure for most myself included choosing such an agency and hoping to luck out would be a really bad idea.

As we slowly walked through the city we said our goodbyes to her girlfriend and made our way back to the apartment. Anya looked at me and said she would be open to having a glass of champagne as we walked through the courtyard the apartment is in.

I had seen her eyeing a restaurant across the way the last few nights. It was lit up with a blue neon centerpiece and there was a fountain nearby. It looked cozy.

The waitress and her talked for a bit. Apparently girls working at agencies have a 20% discount card they use at certain restaurants.

We strolled over and I ordered a bottle of Argentine white and a few sushi rolls since we had a light dinner. Enjoying the wine, chatted and cuddled up as the night cooled off.

When the bill came she looked it over again and lo and behold.....

The wine that was 495 Hrivnas on the menu was 700 Hrivnas on the bill. I feared for the poor waitress and Anya asked for the menu to verify. The poor girl brought it over and apologized about the mistake. Seems there were two different years and she had charged for the higher priced bottle. She aid to just deduct the difference as we were paying cash, but as she walked away Anya spoke to me in English.

"They take advantage of you because foreigner with nice popka" (new word for the day by the way is popka).

The waitress must have heard and understood and walked back shaking. She was extremely embarrassed and I had to calm her down and tell her not to worry about it. It may have been an honest mistake.

We crossed the courtyard to our building and chatted with a few girls drinking beers and smoking on the doorstep. Then retreated for the night.

The city is beautiful, Anya is warm and bright. No wonder they call this the city of love.

I think that is the issue. My current employer would not allow remote work. I could take a cut and work online I am sure, but I do not think they realize how it works.

I do not doubt it. I now believe it is an industry that is fraudulent after meeting some of these girls and seeing how they speak to Anya when we are together. I would not use them again after reading the reports like you say. I would fly out and explore the city locally and try to bump into women naturally. I see many all over.

She wasn't exactly correct when she told you the agency lies to stupid men. The agency lies to ALL men. Ask her why she allows the agency to continue to advertise her age as 21 instead of 28? I understand the agency's reason and that is to lure men to write her and visit her since young girls get the lions share of the customers. What is her reason? What's in it for her?


When I was 40 and visited my wife who was 18 at the time, people here tore into me bad. You're 47, my current age, and after you announced you were visiting a 21 yo, some of the same people who tore in to me are giving you a free pass. Lucky you.

It wasn't an honest mistake. It was business as usual. Your lady is correct that they take advantage of foreigners. Your lady probably likes you. She may have not protected her other dates in the past the same way she does with you.

The tug of war was a joke. We can certainly date long distance, but I doubt that works out long term. People get bored, deal with stress, miss each other. It would put a lot of pressure on the relationship.

It could be that she thinks RW is a stud or it could be that RW made it known to her he is absolutely loaded. Hence the good conduct with turning up at airport, free transportation and no haste to rush RW to a cash machine but pay for the cheap bottles of water themselves. I think the last girl I was with kind of got the impression I was more wealthier than I am. For that it looks like they will quickly drop their knickers. She of course thought it an opportunexpected moment for a shopping spree and thereby wrecking her longer term prospects. This girl being an agency girl probably has more up top and game plan thinking and knows not to make a stupid early grab but instead use every opportunity to demonstrate to RW that she is looking out for him knowing this will score points. Perhaps she thinks RW is well placed enough to earn well enough from Odessa and her to have her cake and eat it.

PLEASE NOTE -- my overall comments on agencies,websites,girls etc have been repeated many times on the forums--   so I am in no way promoting the "notorious" sites.
That said -- and also noting the op comments just above --it is possible to meet a "genuine" girl through those sites. I am not even convinced that the so called "free" sites often mentioned on the forum are any better as far as a guys chances are.
EG-- the op is doing ok here-- despite all the prior misgivings/!!

I know many ( that is many many) girls who do the AD ( & others) routine. There are guys on this site who have married AD ( & other sites)girls . My long term ex was an AD girl ( & is again !!) My current girl was an AD girl ( although that was not how I met her).
In one case of a guy now married -- the girl had no intention or thought that she could actually marry  a guy-- but real life relationship took over and hey-- married.
So it happens.
That said -- my best guess is that about 20% of girls( profiles) are in the actually looking and open to the idea--- IF THE RIGHT GUY comes along.
The huge majority of men that frequent those sites are not even close to being a "right guy" --  and that is important to understand.

Sites like AD etc make a fortune from webcam-- not writing or reading a few letters .AD is a USD$100 million plus a year business !!
The no -hoper guys ( guys who will never travel,not what they say they are,perverts,guys who want to believe the beautiful image is "his" girlfriend etc ,nut cases etc)  clog the system up -- so girls become sceptical too.( with good reason)

In addition -- as an example -- a  girl I know in Odessa was earning about USD$300 -400 per month doing the night shift. She also is quite well qualified in another area -but -earned a fraction of what she could chatting ! Her father earns $100 a month doing damn hard work ! Any decision  she will make will involve her parents future too . She is 100% serious about finding a man -- but the right guy in the right circumstances . She is a very nicely put together girl,very attractive about 25 yo.great personality and sense of humour ,not afraid of hard work,lot's of diverse interests and skills.
Girls can earn a lot more -I have been told USD$1000 per month is not unusual -- and one girl ( now married !!) earnt 3k in a month.
    So--the stakes are high for girls .


More  -- profiles are often operated by a 3rd party ( the hairy Boris syndrome)  -- be that they are agency hirelings -- both male and female --often students with a smattering or learning English -- girls operate each others profiles or maybe the agency gives them a number to  do the writing and chatting with. I wrote years ago of recorded video being used on webcam!!

Yes and no. The women had to give the agency their photographs or participate in an agency photo shoot. Your lady may not have traded messages with you but when you were coming, the agency told her she should meet you. If she is paid by the agency, she is forced to do her job. If she isn't paid by the agency, she has a choice to meet or not meet you. TomT met a girl from an agency. She met him and after a few seconds, turned around and walked away. I guess she did the bare minimum to meet her obligations to the agency. You are obviously getting treated better than TomT but your girl could just be as rude as the woman TomT met.


I've never used an agency but through an independent dating site, I met a girl in her late 20's that was actually heavily involved in the agency in her younger 20's. She said she was forced to date grandpa's but I didn't believe she was innocent since she's done a lot of travelling. For young women living in the FSU, why not enjoy getting showered with gifts and go to exotic places? Not sure how boring Odessa is, seems to be much more going on here than in many cities across the US. It is not a dull place.

When you don't have much money, can't afford fun and have to sit in a concrete box of an apartment everyday, it's a very dull place.

No, I left Monday. Very cool spot. But I am there for beach life and lovely ladies!!!
