RW- you mind giving the id numbers for these houses by the sea that are so cheap. Never seen any under $100. Even the condos in Arkadia are over $100.

I will send them to you privately. We are currently still in one of the homes and I have noticed a few unstable people here. Don't need any extra headaches at this point.

First was by Otrada and it was actually $87 per night, not $65 like I originally posted. I looked at so many I was confused a bit.

One we are in now is in Chomomorsky so a bit out. No boardwalks on the beach, more of a village feel to it. Rooster and dogs waking you up in the morning. Although Anya says it is like that in most neighborhoods outside the downtown in Odessa....  :)

LAman sounds like he has been here several times at least, but for those that have not, when a home is "on the beach" it is still a little walk down the hill to get to. A bluff lies between the city and Sea here. Then you have "first line" and "second line" (line of sight) and so on as they say. You are not waking out the back door into the sand like Florida.

You reported all your meetings with Anya's friends at cafes but why did you leave out visits to relatives houses until I inquired about it?

I have not yet been to any relatives homes. I have certainly been invited. Last night I was invited by the sailor (who speaks good English) to visit a village outside Odessa my next trip. As well as some salt lake with healing mud right outside Odessa.

Your previous post said for sure it was blown up. Now you're saying it "may" have happened as you were told. Although he drags it, he still needs to put weight on it to walk. His foot was blown up around a month ago.

It was longer than that. Listen, I was not by his side when he stepped on the mine. I was not a a part of his surgery team. I did not ask him to remove his dress shoes at family dinner when all the men were dressed up. But I have no reason to doubt it occurred. The country is at war, kids are dying every day over here.

You've promised a couple of parties for her friends and family at your beach front rental house before your visit. You've offered to fix Anya's grandmother's house before your visit. Did you tell her you make up to 25K a month?

We planned it this way before I came out so it would be more convenient. Back home, if someone lives in a house on the water and the other couples live in condos where do you hold your dinner party? At her fathers house which is under construction? Everything is always under construction here in Ukraine btw. People build slowly as they can afford it.

Nobody here knows what I make. Even Anya has no idea. Why would I throw that in someones face who makes $200 per month? Why would I open myself up for a gold digger or robbery?

Does anyone tend to think maybe rw_recruiter is just enjoying his time in Odessa with the girl he met, even if it is Anastasia date where he found his honey from.

... best of luck rw_recruiter.

Nah, could never happen...  ;)
Thanks

Ah so now we know why the big welcome party turned out at the airport to greet you and the free ride to apartment etc. RW they knew you were good for the free feasts, house doing up, etc and you had already paid in advance in terms of the boots. Let me tell you that FSW are quick to catch onto if you have money and letting on that you do in any way is the worst thing unless you just want a hook up and fantasy of a relationship rather than pay straight out for a money for sex deal.

I am off to speak to two classrooms of fifty kids each right now, but after my next few posts later today you may change your mind. Also keep in mind I have not spent over $40 or so at any place we have eaten.

There are times 3 lines of streets along beaches. Otrada is high above beach. Going toward Lanzheron beach it is more level of centre. RW- from your early description of 'walking out to private walkway to beach' didn't sound accurate. It would be 10 min walk to Otrada beach down alley ways. Here is your rock( not sure why upside down)

Then there is BB's inane attempt to paint everything as a negative -sheeesh !

Twice I said in this thread RW_Recruiter had a successful trip even before it's over but you got too emotional about the other stuff to comprehend everything. I said "successful" because not too many men in life get to have fun with one of the most beautiful women they've ever seen. If he wants to have a relationship with the woman, he needs to figure out if her character is as good as her looks.

I have not yet been to any relatives homes. I have certainly been invited. Last night I was invited by the sailor (who speaks good English) to visit a village outside Odessa my next trip. As well as some salt lake with healing mud right outside Odessa.

I'm not surprised a stranger(sailor) wanted to invite you into his home. People there can be friendly like that even after meeting you for a few minutes. I hope you're invited into your lady's and her mom's home before the end of you trip. That is the important invitation, not the sailor's.

IIt was longer than that. Listen, I was not by his side when he stepped on the mine. I was not a a part of his surgery team. I did not ask him to remove his dress shoes at family dinner when all the men were dressed up. But I have no reason to doubt it occurred. The country is at war, kids are dying every day over here.

You're contemplating a relationship with Anya. You need to figure out if you were lied to because that means she scams all stupid agency men the same way too. I can't imagine a guy walking in dress shoes and applying weight on his foot after it recently got blown up by a mine. If he did have an old injury and is able to walk on that foot, that would mean he wasn't recently in a war and didn't need the money you sent for boots. If there's a scam, he's in on it too unless it was another guy who spoke with you on the phone. Is the last name of the guy on the Western Union receipt the same last name as Anya's?

At her fathers house which is under construction?

Not her father's house. Remember before your trip you said you offered to hire labors and a truck to fix her grandmother's floor?

Why would I open myself up for a gold digger or robbery?

Anybody who sends money to somebody they never met opens themselves up for robbery. I believe Anya likes you, sees you in her future, and does not want to currently rob you. What you need to figure out is if she didn't like you like the other guys who came to meet her, would she take you to 5 star restaurants, pay for meals for her agency girlfriends and take you into shops so you could buy her designer shoes and clothes. Would you like to spend a significant part of your life with someone who uses deception to get ahead in life?

Your talking about beaches he could have walked to from the apartment in the centre  !
Now he has moved out of the centre. I Have stayed along this section of coast a few times--and down to  Zatoka   & Karolina -Buhaz ( about 20kms) last year in what was described as beachfront --which technically it was -- the beach reserve --  but still 100mtres to the water > Hotel had it's own pool .

Definately places that real estate speak would call beachfront  in vid linked.
I was trying to find a vid of absolute beach front housing in Odessa .

This was the vid I was looking for--  it shows lots of "water" front properties in the area!!!
For those of us who spend time with local building regulations and government authorities--  this is a good example of why controls are actually a good idea !!

Yea, the airbnb listing/host was a bit deceptive. Once here I see why you were doubting the description, and you are correct. The house at Otrada is basically on a corner, and a street goes right down to a certain extent until only pedestrians can walk. No alleys or anything, it was a main street. Runs right down to Mafia something Club, a newer looking place.

Not her father's house. Remember before your trip you said you offered to hire labors and a truck to fix her grandmother's floor?

Babushka lives with Anyas father. That house is under construction and needs work.

Anya and her mother and brother live in a different home in same area. Their house also is under construction and needs the floor fixed. We have no time for it right now, so they will do it on their own after I leave. Anya told me not to worry about it.

We wake up the morning after family get together and shashlik. The breeze from the Sea is gently blowing in the house.

The dacha has a cherry tree, grape vines (only good for wine Anyas friends tell me), and hops growing on the walled courtyard.

The house has some minor issues and needs a fresh remodel, but has great style and a floor plan I love. Would be a great project for someone to sink their claws into.

I am nursing a slight hangover from all the beer, wine, homemade wine, and vodka toasts. We assess the damage to the food supplies and we killed all the meats. More people showed up than expected. We will need to make a run to the market again.

We call an Uber and head over to the large outdoor market nearby. Tons of stalls with specialty stores. We ask where the meat section is and are told it has been shut down. There is a huge "mega" (Costco or BJ's type store) across the street and it is more popular for meats now.

So, we run across the street and do another shop. Huge store, everything you need it in.

Some local fish and sturgeon.

More pork, sausage, wine, ice cream for the kids,  caviar, and a few kilos of shrimp and we rush back.
Girls are on their way to our place just as we leave the store.

To be honest I don't really care about it. At this point I would prefer to spend more quality time with Anya before I leave.

We get crazy with shashlik
« Reply #209 on: September 11, 2017, 05:15:50 AM »
Guests begin to arrive shortly after we get back. First to arrive is the sailor and his wife. They take Uber as they bring their little son and father wants to drink. Drunk driving is very serious in Ukraine and childrens safety a big deal to parents. His English is very good and we hit it off right away.

More girls arrive, many with their husbands. Almost all Anyas friends have 1-2 children at this point. The kids are dressed up snazy, with stylish haircuts. The women all look beautiful and you can tell some time went into the hair and makeup at this BBQ.

Anyas girlfriends all bring dishes and beverages. And not one "side dish" either. Multiple home made foods, bottles of vodka, cognac, wine, and gifts. They present me with a traditional Ukrainian shirt. One of the husbands at the party is wearing a shirt with the US flag so I don my new gift and everyone has a good laugh. Pictures are begin taken by multiple Ukrainian women. The local internet company must have had an outage by so many uploads at once.

Dishes begin to get whipped up. Girls and Anyas mother are prepping furiously and I help by making salads and New Orleans style shrimp. Shashlik is placed on the grill and cooking is underway. We soak the pork in a Georgian sauce and grill sausages.

Kids are in the pool and running around. The couples are all drinking and laughing and toasts are made every few minutes.

Table is set and food begins to overload it. They stack it up high.

I learn the word  "chut chut" and how to eat after downing shots of vodka. Music is blasting and everyone having a great time. The all day event begins to wind down later at night. We all take a late night walk on the beach and let the guests drift back home. Anya looks so happy, and thanks me for everything. All her friends like me and ask when my next trip to Mama Odessa is.

Good genuine people. Anya has a solid group of friends, hard to find people like that in many places back in the US these days.

Woke up this morning with a broken back. Thin mattresses here and ....

Barely made it to Odessa School #3 to speak with the students. Cab service had no available cars and Uber could not find our location. It does not show on the gps. Finally a driver at Uber recognized the area and I made it in.

Kids were awesome. Intelligent and good looking bunch of 9-10 year olds who were very interested in a foreigner. They all wore nice outfits. Boys mostly slacks and dress shirts while the girls cute embroidered dresses mainly. I took a number if pics and wanted to post one, but decided maybe best not to. Their parents may not like that.   :(

They had all memorized short speeches about themselves.

"Hello, my name is Den. I live in a nice flat in Odessa. I have short hair that is fair. I have a straight nose. I have big eyes that are green. My hobby is karate. I live with my mother and father."  and so on.

One of the little blonde girls had been practicing karate for 5 years. She has over 100 medals to show for it!

Out of about 75 students only 2-3 had brown eyes! The rest all had blue, green, or grey eyes. Amazing.

Definitely something cool to do if you visit. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

On being used by Anya and her friends for the parties.

I spent about $94 the second trip to the store. I now have food leftovers for a week. Most of them from what her friends brought. A shame I leave so early...

Alcohol I have cases of Baltika and a local beer. Several bottles of nice Georgian reds, cognac, bottles of whites, 5 bottles of champagne. If this was my home the bar would be stocked after the party.

Ukrainians do not show up empty handed.

When you finish a bottle of wine or vodka they place it under the table. One guest put it back on the table and the group cursed him out.

Some of the beverages of choice for locals here in Odessa.

Yes, every UW is dying to spend time with a foreigner in order to take advantage of his willingness to pay for smoothies and shashlik.

What I really mean is not the free/cheap payout RW is having but the reason behind why he is being treated as royalty. The girl knows the guy is rich, he probably let on he earns 25k a month, possibly where he lives and even if not I think she has gotten wind that he is rich, if you are so wealthy sometimes it is difficult to hide or slip-ups occur. Anyway its akin to a less geeky, less old and less ugly (I presume ;) ) version of Bill Gates turning up for her - Is she really going to want to risk peeing it up for a few measly overpriced meals, taxi rides and further money requests, I think not. Her retirement age is not far off and good time may not be around much longer for her so RW is a good parachute option for her. No at this point she is not going to want to wreak it with talk of marriage or some issue with some floor in some house that probably isn't worth a tenth of the value of RW's pad. Why worry about a floor in a cheap house when she might be hooking up with a guy who owns a really expensive house, lol. She is playing her cards right to win the long game.

I see her 'agency friends' turning up for meals out as an overrun from her usual dating game - she is probably so set in these ways they are bound to come up here and there. She can't change overnight after all but she no doubt told the girlfriends to play it cool, she may have even settled there part of the bill behind the scenes. The girl she was in a heated discussion with was no doubt about the same, to knock the scam on the head for this one he could be her get out of th industry guy when she needs it. After all agencies are not likely to be fussed with a girl that is nearing her best before date wanting to get out the industry  -they have new upcoming younger girls to replace her.

RW needs to realise that the reason he is being treated as royalty is because he is loaded. Why have the big airport turnout before she even knew if there would be any chemistry with this guy - I bet she would have not done so for the 'stupid men' on mediocre wealth. She is obviously letting a lot of stuff pass because she is interested in a more longer term relationship with RW as he is very wealthy. The catch 22 for RW and all guys where the woman sees wealth is, 'will she be loyal long term or off as soon as she can get her hands on the money'. Any guy that makes out he has money to a FSW or any woman will never know until it is too late - so does he chance it or not. She will only play along so long I wager before wanting to tie him down. At any rate her agency days are nearing an end whether she gets with him permanently or not so she probably figures she has little to lose by avoiding scamming RW.

I'm not saying she might not turn out to eventually be a good wife but its a big gamble and her history as an agency girl does not demonstrate good morals and on that one I agree with BillyB.

RW, Perhaps you should tell her that she misheard you/mistyped/you got carried away and that you only earn 25k a year and rent the pad you live in etc. She is she treats you the same then or has a dramatic personality transplant and drops you like hot coals and you see the real Anya, lol ;D

Remember also RW to look up about the English Millionaire guy that got run over/murdered in suspicious circumstances shortly after marrying his FSW. I'm not saying Anya would do the same if it came to marriage but just an example of how it can all go south for guys that tout their wealth around to get with FSW.

Then there is BB's inane attempt to paint everything as a negative -sheeesh !

Jay, BillyB is very astute that is evident from what he posts and how he has succeeded in his search - he has scored a aver young and pretty girl whom he married. There are not many men out there that could get with a girl with a big age gap in the direction of 20 years or so and not be played for a fool. That he has accomplished this tells you something of the skills of the guy so I wouldn't be too quick to rubbish what he is saying but rather read into it more closely. To this point I don't believe you with all your years experience have exactly succeeded.

What you have just shown (again) in your posts above is what I said a long time ago about you -- you are the complete social misfit -incompetent to comprehend or understand.
The fact that BB is off on a tangent channelling you is not to his credit.

As to your attempt to insult me-- I will repeat for you --you know nothing of my situation ( nor does BB) yet you again throw that in.
Some people here on the forum have met me personally --that is in real life -as well as quite a few more that I have interacted in Skype with --some of them know a lot more about me and our shared confidences --and to their credit - my information is not repeated in open forum ( despite some vehement disagreements ) and I am treated respectfully. I consider those people as friends.
Generally speaking - that is a concept your tiny brain clearly has a problem understanding.

What I see in your posts aimed at rw is plain outright jealousy  -- in every way you are envious  . ( I am too -- I did not get and invite to his party !!)
Some here repeatedly have given you the benefit of the doubt and wished the best for you - only for most to eventually become exasperated with your stupidity.
For me --when you post what is just plain nasty petty jealousy in your whole approach and conclusions . You are obsessed with your lack of resources, your  inability to interact with people generally --let alone fsuw -  you are so narrow minded you will never understand  what others are saying.
In summary --you personify the "strange" type of guy who goes looking in the FSU because he cannot "succeed" on his doorstep -- you are an incompetent idiot.

ps for those that think I am being to harsh -- go read this guys posts

What I really mean is not the free/cheap payout RW is having but the reason behind why he is being treated as royalty.

No, this is an example of normal Ukrainian culture.
After the fall of communism, the biggest mistake Boris Yeltsin's regime made was not to disband the KGB altogether. Instead it changed its name to the FSB and, to many observers, morphed into a gangster organisation, eventually headed by master criminal Vladimir Putin. - Gerard Batten

))  Isn't Sturgeon ( Osetr) a fish  ? !

Seriously, enjoying your TR ....   certainly not working out in the way most of us predicted !

Yes, it is a fish, the larger one of the left with the diamond pattern on the side. I meant that is was not local to this area.

Spasibo
RW, Perhaps you should tell her that she misheard you/mistyped/you got carried away and that you only earn 25k a year and rent the pad you live in etc. She is she treats you the same then or has a dramatic personality transplant and drops you like hot coals and you see the real Anya, lol ;D

She does not know what I make. Only that I have a good job. I have only spent around 2k including airfare this entire trip. In any case money can come and go in life. I have had ups and downs like most.

I'm not saying Anya would do the same if it came to marriage but just an example of how it can all go south for guys that tout their wealth around to get with FSW.

That's EXACTLY what you are saying..yet another 'negative' post about FSUW, from I'm looking for any excuse (trolling ) Trench..

RW needs to realise that the reason he is being treated as royalty is because he is loaded.

Nobody knows what I make here and some local Ukrainians are not doing too bad themselves.

One of the girls at the party lives in the Sauvignon development.

The sailor makes 6k a month. Another guy works construction, unemployed. Anyas friend works at the port with her as a technologist. She makes 2k a month. One girl does nails from home, makes very little. Her husband is a trucker in the EU and gone for long trips, but he makes ok money. One an IT guy, not a lot of money, one a mechanic, not very much, and so on. It is a mixed and diverse group.

I have no idea where 'your' fish was caught -  but Sturgeon are native to the Black Sea ...;)

Yes, not sure the difference in types of sturgeon. Not a fish I am familiar with. I was just told it was not from this area. But maybe it was also local?
