Great Patriotic Victory 1972 Olympic Basketball USA USSR

Apparently there is a new Russian movie just out celebrating this Great Patriotic Victory.

Soviets get to play the final 3 seconds of the game multiple times until they could finally win.



An appeal to Olympic BB committee resulted in 3-2 vote in favor of USSR with the 3 votes coming from Poland, Hungary and Cuba.

The USA players have never accepted the Silver Medal and some even put in their Wills that their heirs could never accept the medal at some later date.
