Newbie - headed to Siberia end of Sept

Hello,

I started reading many of the current and past threads and really appreciate the wealth of information people have shared.

No issues for me yet.  Was on Elenas Models about a year ago and had some luck in my communications but didn't find anyone that stood out for me.  I also ended up in a relationship with an AW, so I put RW aside for a while.  I returned to EM about 3 months ago and had about equal success - initially found a few interesting ladies and had some reasonable communication.

Two+ months ago, I met "Elena" and we have been in almost constant contact.  I have phoned her at home a few times and even was able to communicate to her mother well enough to leave a message. (only based on her mother's basic English skills - nothing to do with my Russian which is non-existant.)  We e-mail about 5-6 times per week and have been able to do some IM when she is at work.  She even has a web-cam which has really helped with the communication. Under these circumstances, there's probably nothing more exciting than watching her react to my words as we chat.  I have purchased a web-cam as well and I'm looking forward to our first two-way-live chat in the next few days.

In the last two weeks, we have started to chat about me coming to visit her in Siberia.  I am starting to put together a plan to see her the last week of September.  Not looking for specific advise as yet.  As soon as I can't find an answer to a question in the "Forum", I will certainly be asking though.

Here are the basics, in case anyone wants to comment:
She's only 3 years my junior (I'm 36)
University educated
Excellent English skills (verbal and written)
Good job - translator for a hotel
No children
No requests for money, just that I come to see her
and, of course, beautiful

We met on Elenas Models.  From reading the other thread on them, that (EM) looks to be a hit-or-miss proposition.  But then, isn't the whole thing??? 

I will give more details on my trip plans, etc. as things unfold.  Right now, I'm still being pretty cautious and taking an "if it's too good to be true, it probably is" approach.   At the worst, I will get to see Siberia and have another experience to add to my growing collection.

Other than just not connecting her in person, has anyone had really bad experiences when going to visit a RW.   I guess there is always a risk that she'll start asking for money AFTER we meet...

I don't see any red flags in what you have told us.   It sounds like you have a good gal who may have the potential to turn out to be the one you seek.  

The only drawback I can see is you would be going on a WOVO with no backup plan if things go wrong.   Hopefully they won't but I have made some trips that I thought would be sure things and come away very disappointed.   It sounds like a good match.  I hope it works every bit as well as you dream it will.

Dsink if you go do it first and foremost as a vacation.  Find outwhat tere is to do in that town andbe ready to do them on your own.  It sounds like the two of you have a really good base of communication so things may go smoother than most first meeting.  Learn all you can about where she lives and sometimes the best backup plan is to have something along with you that will interest women into talking to you.

Elena lives in Kemerovo.  PDT+15hrs makes for interesting communication challenges (as for all of us, I'm sure.)  I call her at 8am to catch her at 11pm / bedtime.

Thanks for the advice and well-wishes.  I have been doing some research on Kemerovo and I will definitely solidify a back-up plan between now and then.  I plan on staying in the hotel where she works though this could be a potential problem if things don't work out well.

Turbo, I didn't see an acronym thread, so you are going to have to spell out "WOVO" for me...

WOVO is write one visit one.   The other popular combination is WMVM   That is write many, visit many.  Those are the most common.  Of course there are other combinations such as write many visit one.   I guess it would even be possible to wovm using an agency.

You will find a lot of short cuts here like AW is Amercian Women.  RW (you can guess)  FSU women is Former Soviet Union women.

One option for a backup plan is to just have some good agencies availble if you need them but where you are going there may not even be any agencys.

Correct me if I am wrong but that is somewhere near Novosibirsk I think? You've got plenty of options. There are lots of agencies in Novosibirsk and in Omsk which is close (where my wife is from and we have a member here Enigma Julie who has an agency there) so if it does not work out you will have some back ups if needed. Stay away from "Get Married Now" in Novosibirsk as they have screwed many folks over regardless of their "money back guarantee".

 Go, have fun, don't expect miracles, and just enjoy the Russian experience!

Nothing wrong with WOVO... but in any case, begin collect contact information of girls from the same regio... if your planned stay is enough long ( 3-4 week ), you will be able to contact these other lady's in case of problem.

About agency, they are not bad or good... bad apple exist everywhere... in any case, if the meeting is successful, try to cut the relation with the agency... specialy if her english is enough good, you don't need them anymore... will be interesting to read a trip report at your return !

That's correct... Kemerovo is about 180km from Novosibirsk.  I will see if there are back-up options in Kemerovo and, if not, check out Novosibirsk.

I will definitely enjoy the experience (such things are in my blood) and will most certainly write a full and detailed report afterward!

Bruno is right.  That is the lesson I learned on my last trip.  I finally met a woman speaks good english, she gave me her personal email address, and phone number.  We email each other a lot and the nice thing is that she has travelled to other parts of the world, i.e. Egypt, which lessons the cold feet issue.
