Paypal in Russia

Does anyone here have a Russian partner / Wife / friend that has Paypal ?

I ask as I have a friend that says one cannot transfer within Russia - monies paid from a Russian Paypal account to another Russian Paypal account

Considering I have seen it done, I was just wondering if anyone else has experience of this?

I don't directly know one, but I have bought from Russian vendors on ebay
I strongly suspect if you were to search for one, and had your lovely wife ask them this question
you would receive a response

Paypal worked for me in Russia when I used it but I am not a Russian resident so it may be different. This was a purchase, not a transfer.

For some reason Uber rejects my credit card in Russia. A friend had the same problem until recently, mysteriously resolved.

So I would not be surprised if there is something screwy going on.

Indeed, my UK VISA and M/Cards do not work for online payments in Russia, either - hence there's been not a little 'paypaling going on'   

[NB They work fine for face to face terminal payments]

AS yet, my specific question re from paypal to paypal transfers within Russia remains ... I KNOW it works - just sought someone else who has experience - given my friends refusal to believe my word at face value ....

I recently sent money via PayPal to a person residing in Russia.
So that does work.

Unfortunately - I'm STILL looking for SOMEONE who knows SOMEONE ELSE who has transferred money via Russian Paypal accounts ((

I know it can be done - but this 'friend' thinks it's a figment of my imagination ))

My Sister-in-law is an artist. She has used paypal many times within Russia for her customers for several years now. No problem.
