Surely this cannot be true

I was watching (by myself) a TV detective show wherein a 29 year old trophy wife is married to a 70 something wealthy guy.

This guy's only child, who was a drug addict, is murdered.

Some suspicion is directed (I can't imagine why) toward the 'hottie' who will now inherit everything.

She swears very convincing that she really loves her husband.

As the investigation proceeds, it is discovered that the 'hottie' has changed her name multiple times and has gotten substantial sums of money and gifts from other older wealthy guys.

I was shocked . . . please tell me that this doesn't actually happen in real life.
