Mueller before Congress
« on: July 24, 2019, 11:09:19 AM »
We are working out doors a lot in cooler morning times, so haven't seen all of testimony.
But have taped it to watch later.

However, was very struck by how Mueller seems to have deteriorated a lot from what his acknowledged  reputation portrayed.

He can read a prepared text well, but stumbled a lot under questioning.

Now, in his defense, this was a 400+ page report prepared by dozens of persons.

So it would probably be difficult for any one person to be able to respond quickly to questions pertaining to specific passages; particularly when the questioners quickly threw in a lot of their own words in conjunction with what was in the report.

What do the rest of you think?
A beautiful woman is pleasant to look at, but it is easier to live with a pleasant acting one.

Mueller is not giving EITHER side 'sound bytes' and sticking to his remit ..

He is not comfortable with atttempts to use him

There's still a chancce that 'Trampu' will face onstruction charges when out of office ..

I didn't watch or read any testimony but I noticed the anti Trump media isn't jumping for joy after the Mueller testimony. It's a big win for Trump.

Same here I missed the whole thing.
I got a call from a buddy this morning during the testimony.  He loathes trump, and I expected him to be upbeat about what was going on, but I could tell in his voice he didn't feel good about the way the hearing was going.  Personally, I think Trump is getting away with something but I expect that .

I just read a journalist's opinion of the hearing and he thinks Mueller is too old and probably not the right man for the job. In other words the journalist wants a do over with a new man in charge of the investigation. I watch of video of Mueller giving answers to questions. He was not sharp. His mind is going out but I remember he had younger, high powered attorneys and investigators with sharp minds working for him. It wasn't a one man show.

BAHAHA! I'm looking to bet on a certainty 'here'.

I have no dog in the Brexit fight. I wouldn't give one flying flip what the Limeys decide they wish to do. You, on the other hand seem very passionate about President Donald J. Trump's demise. Put up or shut up?

IF your President is daft enough to boast he is popular over here - then expect to be put straight ..

Again, I am saying there is a chance and I'm not certain enough to bet - unlike on Brexit - the possibllity of a 'no deal' Brexit

Once more, your nick is more apt than you realise ..

Oh you're referring to your $6.92 clusterf*ck? Now that you mentioned that and your need to nickle and dime a gracious host on a fixed income complete with attempts at humiliation, perhaps I should lower the wager to 20 Lari?

What do the rest of you think?

I posted about it in the Trump thread. I think Mueller is suffering from
some sort of mental deterioration. He's 75, he was definitely only a
figure head and that's telling. It's obviously that Andrew Weissman
and his 18 angry Democrats ran the show.

Andrew Weissman hired everyone on the team the same Andrew Weissman,
that attended Hillary Clinton's election night party that never happened.

Also, it is you that brought up GQ and your full out assault on Maxx. I'm not trolling anywhere. That would be you trolling every thread on the board. You made the statement cupcake. I realize most everything you say comes directly out of your ass and it's obviously with no forethought. Take the wager or stfu. 200 quid

Moby,

Isn't anybody playing badminton with you in the Brexit thread?
If not doesn't mean you can drag that thread over to this one,
it's way off topic.

Do you want me to go over to the Brexit thread and post something?

EDIT TO ADD
I posted a question in the Brexit thread

It is noted that STFU was the chosen option. Predictable. Or maybe the guy is short $6.92.

Sad to be in their 60s and still consider $6.92 a significant amount of money.

Unlike you - I don't care who posts in any thread -  and if they post a point counter to mine - I'm sure they won't mind me responding ..

@Gator :  I'm sure 'Trampu' will be praying for a second-term to avoid the chance of such a prosecution

I found it interesting that neither big political party made any captial from Mueller's questioning / answers ..and he sure stuck to his remit ..

[Editedto add: Dear 'Beel', the Brexit thread appears to have been more lively than here .. see you there ..]
