Okay here we go...

Elena and I met in May of 2004 in Omsk, Russia. We liked each other enough to continue on with our relationship and spent mega hours on the phone talking about everything while we were getting our paperwork together. She and Sergei (then 4 and now 6) arrived in December of 2004 and we were married on January 7, 2005 (my best Christmas present ever!). We have each been married once before and my children (adult and almost adult) live in Canada with their mother. I'm 45 and Elena is 28 and we have no problems or issues with this difference.

We've been through a lot of changes over the last 19 months and even though I'm a great pain in the butt she seems to think I'm worth keeping so I'm happy with that.

Dude, I think you just became one of my newest Heroes!  Congrats...  and of course best wishes on your continued Happiness!!!  I recently read some of your other jokes/diggs at other posters on the board.   You give out honest and sound advice I do think.  And to think I thought you were busting my chops because I am a new guy here...  Or maybe you were??? 8)

Take it easy,
WR

Well said WaveRider.  Ken is one of my hero's too.  Very level headed, good advice and great sense of humor.  I also see Ken as a person who would give someone the shirt off his back.

Sometimes good people don't get all the happiness they deserve.  Ken deserves the happiness he seems to have found.

Oh Great! Now my head is so swollen up I can't get out the door... Thanks a Lot!  ;D

Seriously, thank you both for the kind words but I'm sure that my lovely, talented, and brilliant wife would be able to tell you how un-level I am.

 - off looking for a pin to pop my inflated ego now.... -

Well, Ken you are one of the reasons I like this board.
You give the new guys some positive reinforcement and make them feel welcome. Good luck and I hope we can see you again and spend more time together.

I second what Clyde said. It was a real pleasure meeting you and your family. The door is open any time you want to come in..

All right now you guys... it took me all day to get my head deflated and now you've gone and done it again! Rotton people!  ;D

SoC and Patrick,

We really enjoyed our time with you guys and look forward to doing it again in the near future. Perhaps a picinic somewhere close where we can just sit and visit would be good. Any of you guys know a middle area where we could meet? I know Elena does not like being in the car as it makes her feel sick so the shorter the better.

We both look forward to getting to know you all better!

Elvira and I received a phone call one night last summer
from a cousin of a husband of a cousin of my brother-in-law,
with an offer of a Ford Explorer if we agreed to retrieve it
up in Richmond. Right away I thought "Hmmm, a chance to
meet the legendary Catzenmouse and his lovely Siberian
better half. Well, in true style, we gathered in a driving range
parking lot and talked up a small storm for the better part of
an hour. Elena and Elvira got off to a slow but deliberate start,
and after 10 minutes were trading stories in rapid fashion. Ken
confided that their country villa wasn't cutting the mustard and
so planned to sell & relocate - about 6 weeks later, IIRC, they
had made that welcome move - and I knew Ken was one of those
men who knows how to "get things done."

Elvira was quite amused at how two Americans, virtual strangers,
would arrange a meeting of acquaintance. She remarked that
the USA had to be the friendliest place she'd ever been. Of course,
Ken and Elena are so down-to-earth that comfort comes easily.

These two, in our book, are classy people. Meeting them, even
for a short moment, made our trek most memorable.

I don't post very often, but I have enjoyed reading a million of yours. You have given me something to think about several times with your comments to others.

So Ken, or CatZeMouse...  looks like you did "Catch the Mouse," you sly cat you!

Seriously, I greatly appreciate your level-headed approach in the advice and feedback you provide here.  You are in my Hall of Fame at RWD, which is limited to less than 10 guys.

Thanks a million!

2tallbill,

Yes, I also find Ken posting things that I think, but I am too lazy or otherwise occupied to say. I have allot of respect for his opinions.

Well now... I think I'll have to set up a PayPal account now and make you all put a nickle in to read a post... ::)

Honestly, I really do appreciate the nice words said here but I am really nothing special here and there are PLENTY of guys here who know WAY more than I ever will. I know that I have learned one hell of a lot of valuable information from the members here and luckily enough have made a few friends along the way too.

If RWD had been around when I was first getting into this adventure I would have saved myself a lot of grief and also a lot of money too. As far as I am concerned I'd have to say that this family here at RWD is one that I am proud to be a part of! One thing I have learned here is that you can get excellent and valuable information from any and all of the members. Just when I have started to believe that someone was never going to have anything to say they will prove me wrong and write something that turns on one of those little 5 watt bulbs in my head and make he go Hmmmm.

Again, thanks much and now I have to go play video games with the 6 year old who will be more than capable of putting me back in my place again by beating me at everything ...

Ya know Richard, I think I'll probably be better off just letting her beat the hell out of me and get it out of her system!
