One Year
« on: August 28, 2006, 01:06:53 PM »
Thought I would keep a low profile on this. Wanted to let everyone know we had a nice quiet day. I sent her 13 roses, we went for a nice dinner and yesterday I took her to Macy's to buy her favorite perfume. Things are going well and we are happy. Michael started a new school today. No more ESL classes.

SoC,

Good chatting with you the other night (though brief as the girls were going strong)!

Don't worry, the first year is the easy one, second year all hell breaks loose!  ::) ;D :o ...kidding...

You both have worked your butts off and you both also deserve all the happiness in the world!

Congrats Clyde. I hope your family will have many more anniversaries. Maybe we'll finally meet you at the next gathering of the Baltimore/Washington area RWD group. :)

P.S. I hope Ken is kidding about about the second year   :-\;)

I have scanned up and down and can't find a comment from Ken about the second year.  I am sure if it was bad he was kidding. Voyager.   You should have your first one year anniversary coming up in a few months.  Don't forget to tell us.

When you guys get together again let me know.  If I am not over there I will come down so DaKnack does not feel like the only oddball.

Thanks Ken,  Yes I had heard there was a secret that all the happily married guys keep from everyone and that it was that from day 366 to day 732 is pure hell.  Then it gets worse.

Actually... the second year here was the toughest.

SOC,

Don't let my comment above disturb you though.. just keep plugging..  I think you will find that what's ahead will be more about marriage in general than about RW specifically..

All FWIW and Happy Anniversary!

Congratulations Clyde and Iryna!

I have no idea about year 2 being tough. I thought they all are.

Not everyone knows about about agent 86 Maxwell Smart and the "Cone of silence" but I remember. Wasn't the problem that when the domes were lowered they couldn't hear each other unless they shouted so loud everyone could?

Thanks everyone for the support. I will probably not make a special post the second year because I think getting through the first is the real challenge.
After this I will make an anniversary post every five years.  ;D

Way to go Clyde!  I'm slightly over the 2 year mark for marriage but just coming upon 1 year for my wife being in America. I love everyday with her. Congratulations!  Marriage is by default easy, but a little effort goes a long way. And us guys that go this route put forth a bunch of effort.
