FSW style of dressing
« on: June 24, 2021, 10:21:10 PM »
I've noticed more increasingly of late on sites like Fdate that quite a few FSW seem to be wearing something like a fairly formal dress/outfit, something fairly smart looking then pairing it with something like a pair of white casual trainers. I didn't mind it at first as looked a little funky and it tended to be the more you get woman doing it but now I'm not so sure it sits that well with me in my mind. With more and more FSW seemingly doing it I'm kind of finding it odd looking, no longer just the odd girl here & there with a quirky take on it but something that doesn't quite fit right. It's not so much that I find it real be bad looking or mind, or would mind if she turned up to a date wearing it like that, that much but I just don't think it really goes, kind of a fashion faux Pas in a way. To be honest just a basic pair of plain black flat soled shoes would go much better. Just seems to be a bit too much of a disjointedness between what the girl is wearing and her shoes to me, anyone else notice this?

That's not an FSW style of dressing.  That's a Western fashion trend from 2020 that they've picked up.

Yeah that could be it, think you're probably right. Come to think of it I've seen younger western girls dress a bit like that. I think where it goes wrong is seeing FSW in their thirties or so doing it. Its kind of a thing a younger girl can get away with in her late teens or twenties and can look a bit funky but an older woman it kind of just looks a bit immature and unfinished look. For older women it would definitely be better with plain black flat shoes and not take anything away from them. On that score I think they could look as good if not better than the younger trainer wearing girls.

Trenchcoat is now trying to be fashion Trend-coat.

FSU women wearing trainers to walk in makes a lot more sense than
high heel boots that they generally wear and they don't get the foot
problems that their older sisters have.

I know that you have difficulty focusing or working, or studying and
that day dreaming about irrelevant subjects is easier than hitting the
gym or learning Russian or finishing your remodeling project or finding
a good girl.

Do you think that you will find an FSUW who helps you day dream more
of the day away? or one that helps you focus? Who knows what you
could accomplish if you found one that could help with the latter.

Started mostly in places like Chicago and Manhattan, then spread out to the rest of the US. Women brought along trainers and wore them during their lunch breaks, etc...for the exercise. So in essence, the trend was initiated by what you termed women in their 30s...

Almost in unison, men started wearing 'sport shoes' with their suits. It's become a trend in the same manner. You need to go out in public and socialize once in a while, man.

Wow, that is harsh Bill :'(

I've actually been doing the blockwork on my extension these past few days but it takes time with just me doing it but it's starting to come along now. Needless to say that I have to rest in between and that is when I'm on here.

All the stuff you mention I am going to do but it takes time to do properly. Learning Russian I've have tried when tired and it just doesn't work, it needs real dedicated time spent on it when revitalised and not with energy levels exhausted. Anyway nearly finished the house so will be able to move on to all of that.

I just wondered why so many FSW started popping up like that with trainers as like you say FSW normally have their own style fairly unique to the FSU. To be honest I'm not normally keen on those high heeled boots on FSW, they look perculiar to me, while I think differences are interesting in cultures I think flat soled black shoes and tights are a better look for women if dressing for winter environment.

Must look terrible GQ a definite fashion faux pas. I think a black old skool trainer/shoe could like ok but most of these girls are wearing bright white trainers and if the guys are wearing bright white trainers that must look horrible, juvenile even especially on girls & guys in their 30s. What awful fashion statement will America thing up next??? :-\

So anyhow how come FSW are apeing western trends like this? I thought they believed to know what is good to look in and what is not to look good in.

http://www.dmarge.com/how-to-wear-sneakers-with-a-suit

Sign o’ the times, bruddah.

Where will America descend civilization to next :wallbash:

I think if the outfit is semi-casual then it's possible to get the right sneaker/trainer to fit in. The problem with a lot of guys in the link you sent GQ is that they are trying to wear full suits with the sneaker/trainer and it just ends up them looking childish and immature. If the sneaker/trainer us the sane or similar colour to the suit it will probably for ok but anything else looks an obvious faux pas in my opinion. Worst seems to be a bright white trainer with any suit other than a white suit it makes the guy look a real tool in my mind. Here's a resource on how it can be done:

http://www.gentlemansgazette.com/should-you-wear-sneakers/

For women again with a dress or skirt I would again say match colours. For a younger girl in her late teens or early twenties she might well get away with a dress & trainer in different colours as a kind of funky twist but for an older girl to try this it just looks odd I think and out of place.

Rap type music was common in the Russian Empire.  It was called chastushka.

Trench take this all as constructive criticism.

I discussed this topic with a friend and his Russian wife over the weekend and even her parents generation followed American trends in the 70’s..... Her parents attended some underground dinner parties, where her dad would wear smuggled Levi’s and they would listen to American rock n roll, so following foreign trends isn’t a new thing even for Soviet era generations.

My friend met his wife on fdating and she knows the site well.... She would get together with her girlfriends and spend hours looking at men’s profiles, picking them apart.

Someone posted a picture of you on here in the past, so it only took a couple of minutes to find your profile.....She critiqued yours like she used to with her girlfriends.

The big red flag she saw was 7500 views in 5 years, which to her indicted a keyboard Romeo or a man who has some issues that meant thousands of women passed him over. She said 1000 views would start to worry her and her girlfriends.

She thought the picture where you were kind of smiling would make a better main profile picture than the one you’re using.

She said you have too many pictures and they all look the same..... There are none that really sparked a woman’s interest or a made a good conversation starter.

This might seem picky, but shows how closely they study men’s pictures...... One close up showed you don’t like to iron, particularly your collar.

One of the dining pictures was not in focus and a major faux pas in both dining pictures, that her mother would comment on if she took you home for dinner is your elbows on the table. That might seem picky too, but not when you’re trying to make a good impression.

She also picked on the one that you not only had your elbows on the table, but your arms crossed..... That would draw the eye of if any FSU woman sitting around the table with close friends and family, or on a date..... You look defensive and uncomfortable.

This is were maybe you shouldn’t throw stones in a glass house..... All your pictures were in casual dress and “lacked style”..... No offense, but she likened your attire to her husbands home / gardening clothes.

If this isn’t your profile, then I apologize, but you must have an identical twin living in the UK.

If it is you..... I’d suggest deleting your profile, updating your pictures and never letting the views get as big as they are now. You probably stay clear of women with large view numbers, obviously they do too.....The most views I ever got up to was approximately 500 and that meant I had more options than I could realistically chat with, moved over to Skype..... At that point I deleted my profile.

Somehow despite the many past discussions about profile pictures, you’ve missed all the advice members here have given you..... I’m sure most here have talked about mixing up your attire and dress style and also using pictures that spark a woman interest, by showing an active lifestyle or hobby. Take a look at other men’s profile pictures to give you some idea of your competition.

Not bad advice Davo, that profile isn't mine if you meant that seriously lol.

Yeah I normally put on and delete profiles fairly regularly as once a profile has been around it can get stale and new profiles can attract new women. Often there is a space in between as often I've either met someone with my old profile or trail has gone a bit cold so no point in women seeing the same guy up again too soon or fishing in the same pool of women.

Most of the stuff you mention I don't do, possibly the odd shirt could be better ironed in one of the photos but it was supposed to be a non iron shirt. I don't currently have a profile up as I deleted it a few weeks back. I've never put a photo of me up here.

This isn't really a thread about me though, it's really what I've noticed in photos of FSW of recent, I still search as a guest in Fdate.

No need to apologize Davo, some of your points were valid in your post also. To be honest I kind of look a bit like that guy, not just in dress I mean, a little similar facially, particularly the first pic, could be my Doppleganger lol.

Yeah I've occasionally worn the odd T-shirt and done done pics that weren't all that great, kind of boring backgrounds I guess now looking back. I'm going to do some new photos soon so the women can get a better sense of me out around done places I like. That was kind of the main emphasis of the other thread I did recently on fashion brands, etc. I want to go for a smart casual look and it's really a case of piecing it together. A full smart look is a suit where a full casual look is t-shirt & jeans so that's pretty easy to do. For a guy though a smart casual look I think is harder to pull off as it means pairing several items of clothing that must all go and not look too much one way or the other.

I think I'm pretty much there now just a few little things to sort out. I don't blame the guy in the photo, it's easy enough mistakes to make and like I say done some of them myself. I guess its harder being a guy in knowing how it comes across to women until finding out about it. Think in the photos a lot of the creased stuff may just be from the fit/posture of the guy, the way he is sat more than anything else possibly. I can see the photos aren't that impressive but didn't think they were really bad just not quite there in one way or another I guess.
