three years ...
« on: August 28, 2006, 04:04:29 PM »
Seems a lot of anniverseries are at this time of year !
and ours was this past weekend ...

Three years seems a short time , and that time has really truly flown by.
I wish it would slow down a bit, but it keeps rushing on..
We've know each other 5 years now, and it seems like just yesterday we met.

All marriages take work and commitment by both parties, and ours is no exception! There are always a few bumps and potholes in any road and russian roads are not known for being particularly smooth ;)
Despite normal bumps, we are VERY happy and  it has been the best 3 years of both our lives and  our relationship is stronger today than ever.
We are hoping to have an addition to the family ,but none so far..

Spent the weekend in Chicago visiting our favorite restaurants and sights,
(and some of her favorite shops of course LOL ) but mostly just walking by the river , lake , parks, or navy pier.
Then spent Sunday afternoon at a random gathering of friends and family
at a local park near home..  decent shasli'k, plenty of drinks , and lots of kids laughing..

life is good     ;D

Usually it is birthdays that are grouped together (9 months after holidays  ;) ), although there usually are more weddings in the nicer weather than in the dead of winter.

Congrats on your three years, AJ.  Best wishes to you and your bride.  And remember, always wear protection (your helmet, that is...).   ;D

Congrats.  I was in Chi-town recently.  I like the place reminds me of Baltimore only the air is a little more stale and non-oceanish.  I forgot you were there or Id have suggested a lunch or something.  BTW... what happened to the picture of you and your wife avatar?  The dog is much less attractive.

Congratulations AJ. I seems odd that you were married after me. I seems you were always around and a true old timer of at least 5 years married.

Sorry AJ about this bit of Elvira trivia:

I joined Febuary 22nd 2001 for my first post. She was 3 days from passing her interview at the Moscow embassy. I was so worried. She passed it but got on the train for the 18 hour trip back to her home city without bothering to call me and tell me the "good news". I worried over the next 20 some hours that she didn't want to tell me the bad news. Finally when I talked with her she gave me some excuse about not being able to find a phone in Moscow.

My first post wasn't the real scary one. It was about Elvira's love for movies. I mentioned she seen the video of "Birthday Girl" at a kiosk. She grabbed it quickly because she was a big Nicole Kidman fan. She turned over the box, read the description and quickly put it back on the shelf. I thought that it was because she was offended at the portrayal of RW. There were red flags all over the place and my very first post on 2/22/03 showed one of them.

I was thinking of the famous post "Divorcing my RW"
that probably stung more keyboard romeos into a new awareness of reality, than any other post since..

I hadnt heard the *trivia* about the phone call..

AJ,

Congratulations on the 3 years. My 2 year was in July. I wouldn't trade the single years for what I have now and I'm sure you feel the same. Marriage is great. I wish you the best of years to come.

Congrats, AJ--3 years--that's great!

Since we both have girls from Dnepr, I have a few questions to ask you about her successful adjustment to the US.  I'll PM you today....thanks!
