Back to my original post, maybe young guys are having relationships with single mums nowadays because those women tend to be more grounded and less prone to gold-digging ?

I don't think that's true at all. Being 'grounded' hardly rates sexually high in desirability. Men can romanticize being with a 'grounded' woman, but that will hardly be their masturbating material.

It may just seems like many young men are hooking-up with single Moms, and not necessarily getting hitched with one, simply for the reason there may be more single Moms out dating these days. But having said this, I see more of these in the MOB much more than in normal local/social/dating venues. Again, that's solely because many of the MOB women with child/ren are far more attractive than the average MOB male can actually date at home.

One of the gal I met on my first trip did have a daughter. I would not ever dare consider marrying someone at home with a kid, but this gal looked exactly like a young Faith Hill and I had a HUGE crush on Faith Hill at the time.

Here's a true story.

My brother works in sales, and he was training up a University student in her twenties earlier this year.

I've not met the girl but he tells me that she's a pretty girl who looks young for her age.

Anyway,a surgeon asked her out on a date and she rejected him .

Her reason ?

Surgeon's don't earn enough

There you go. Obviously she isn't 'grounded'.

The average salary range for a General Surgeon is between £131,016 and £277,795.
($175,590.26- $372,306.41)
Source: I Googled it copied the results here

It's not enough to be rich but it's a significant salary for the boyfriend of
a young 20 something girl. Maybe he was fat, old, ugly, smelly, etc and
that factored into her comment? Possibly if he was extremely handsome
she could have made it work?

Interesting this swing toward sexual inactivity by (most) males compared to females.
And coupled with idea that many females are having sex with the same male.

This is completing a circle that goes back to earlier mankind and is the norm for most animal species.

i.e. The dominate alpha male in the herd provides (almost) all the sex for (almost) all the females in the herd.

This next part I remember from seeing a PBS special (or somewhere) many years ago and is somewhat fuzzy in my aging brain . . . so others with more specific info can chime in.

This fact of alpha males providing most all the sex carried over to early humans (and those that proceeded).  This, in turn, led to severe fighting among the remaining young men in the tribe whose testosterone was raging.

To settle things down in the tribe, the elders decreed that each man should have only one woman, thus allowing for most every man to have a woman.

Even later, this idea was incorporated into formal marriage in most religions.

Currently with sexual restrictions relaxed for females, the females are leading the way toward reverting back to the behavior of animals wherein the alpha male provides sex for many females.

Hehe!   I think that is a pretty fair comparison.

Who are today's "alpha" males?  IMHO, if one subscribes to such a notion, they are men with money.  It doesn't matter if that's in business (Mark Zuckerberg or Bill Gates - would either be attractive to women without billion dollar fortunes?). athletics (would athletes have women chasing them if they were making $35,000 a year?), entertainment (a mixed bag, thanks to exceptional physical attractiveness, but a disproportionate number of male movie stars are homosexuals), or politics.  The common denominator is money, preferably, very large amounts of it.

Hola!
Many if not most women nowadays have enough money or access to enough free money.  Not Bill gates money but enough.

I think athletes would still be getting many of the best babes even if they weren't being paid the silly money they get nowadays.  Being physically attractive and physically strong still garners a lot of respect/interest from women.

Crane operator, 55 years old good shape, I'd say way above average looks, not smelly.

He is a recent divorcee, and cheerfully dating ladies here in the states.  Currently states he is with a 45 year old that rocks his world.  There is a real market for men in this age range locally if they choose to put themselves out there.

That's incredible money FT, I would wonder at what the guy is selling to be able to get that amount, I would guess at rich mansions possibly. I'm the UK I think either of those jobs you'd be hard pressed to find anything anywhere near that money. After a few years tucking away that sort of money a guy could retire and love of investments and/or own business set up.

This  *rich guys get the girls theme* goes around the forum routinely for decades.

Of course its has some truth to it! it is common sense and has across thousands of years.
  All the while -
the average bloke marries the average lass in every society around the planet .

Most men here arent 20 somethings in mothers basement.
Very little of this ,if any, effects if they marry or who they marry.

The 20 something woman, is still very likely to marry ,when she finally does marry,a man roughly her age and from her same socio economic background.
They exceptions are just that, exceptions.

I get a fair amount of attention from middle aged and older women when I am out and about.  But they are all chunky and above.

Just yesterday I was at grocery store and a 50ish woman said:  You are looking good in your Fall colors.  I  hadn't even given it conscious thought, but realized I was wearing a shirt colored sort of orange/red which looked like a leaf that had turned color.

When I got home I relayed this to wife, and commented how she had not noticed the color and spoke about it.

She is never jealous and simply said:  "You are getting a lot of attention from women."

But just to be safe, I put a total damper on it by adding:  "She was chunky."

Wife just smiled and knew the competition was over.

Hola old boy!
Believe it or not 160k, 220k is pretty good money but in california it isn't too uncommon.
As to what the young boy does, my impression is it related to computer products, maybe software.
Yes, if somebody is a good planner they could buy investments elsewhere and possibly live off the income in a lower cost area.   Most people aren't good planners like that though.  I'm trying to impress upon my daughters the power of the money they currently make and they seem to get it, hopefully they act on it.

Honestly I used to be considered a well above average looking guy.  Nowadays I get ZERO looks from ladies.  Of course I can chuckle about it here.  I think I come across very unattractive to ladies (In general).     I also think if I decided to clean up and try, I probably could, but being married to a goddess gives me no incentive to care.  The future though, you never know.   I'm imagining you in your fall leaf shirt with pot belly,  and getting a chuckle out of it

Well, those are decent AGIs, but the reality is it's a misnomer. It is not what this operator actually 'make'.

The crane operator's $160,000.00 is roughly the (union) 'rate' and not his 'income'. Currently, I have 3 foreman working for me. Their (Local 12 - Operating Engineers) union rate is slightly over $60.00/hr. ( $ 126,880.00) Add in the union burden & payroll tax, they're 'cost' rate is at $98.00/hr ($ 203,840.00/yr). We provide them with trucks + fuel (CC), which means their 'adjusted gross rate is at $125.00/hr. When they do Cost+ basis (T&M) work, we are allowed to tack on a 15% O&P.

UNskilled labor cost rate is at $ 76.38/hr ( $158.8K/yr), though their wage is actually $ 44.04/hr ($ 91,600.00/yr). Still not too shabby for someone willing to do field work that requires ZERO skill. Sometimes language proficiency/fluency is not required either.

One of the conversations I had with Kherson girl was over the man bringing in the income. Apparently her brother went out all hours to bring money in, so much so that neither she nor her sister in law who lived in the same flat with her sister's baby saw that much of him, I got the impression it was just to crash for sleep and that social time wasn't all that much. My guess is that is pretty common for a lot of guys out there in terms of way of life. On You Tube I've seen a video where they were interviewing random guys walking down the street, guys in suits, etc. One guy in a suit said that life wasn't too great as the amount of hours having to be worked, weekends as well as weekdays.

However, when it comes to a woman's expectations out there I get the impression that the guy guy is expected to bring in the money in the first instance and if he doesn't he likely gets an earful or at least relationship problems. Not saying this is all Ukrainians but many probably are a bit set up that way.

In our society the guy can be largely done away with. The girl in the UK can get a flat or house from the council/housing associations without needing a guy if they are pregnant. So if they want to have their own place, control of their life without needing to take a partner's view in consideration then not having the guy live in, in the first place is a no brainer for them. They do away with any kicking the guy out, bad feeling or difference of opinion, arguments etc and have everything their way the way they like it. I think that's the main thing in the UK moreso at the lower socioeconomic spectrum range the girls see that the guys bring little so they can live just as well of benefits without having to need a guy around. I don't blame them if I was a girl I could well see that the best deal could be that way. I think that what comes down to it a lot these days women cutting the best deal for them as they see it which they often see as the guy pushed out and kept at a distance they like with them in control.

No facts.

Trench, do you make all the important decisions in your life based on guesswork?

Since you think women have it easy, getting social housing, benefits, men, why don’t you get rid of your tackle, have some hormone treatment, grow your hair and buy some frocks, (short ones, as I recall you like them short) and hey presto!!

All your problems sorted.

Here's a fact for you.

I met one of my old friends in town today.

He told me his young single-mother daughter, who's been living at home with him with her two very young kids, has just been given the keys to a £250k new-build house by the local council.

Her only downside is that she'll only be getting £550 a month in benefits, but with no mortgage/rent or council tax to pay i'm sure she'll cope.

His son,who also lives with him, isn't too impressed, saying "I'll never get a place like that dad "

Yep. One anecdotal account.
Saying that, families do get priority over single persons. No surprise there.

So you now admit Trench was correct in his claims about single mums having it easy regarding getting social housing.

In your haste to attack him at every turn the fact remains that he does make some valid points.
