AOS medical exam cut off date
« on: August 29, 2006, 08:11:31 PM »
Please excuse me if this is addressed in another thread but I did a search and didn't find the answer I was seeking and don't have time to search the BCIS reg's at this time. What is the cut-off date for the medical exam for the AOS interview? My wife had her K-1 medical exam in mid. Sept. of last year. We filed the AOS paperwork in March of this year and for some reason BCIS sat on it until recently. Now we have an AOS interview in early Oct. of this year. All her vaccinations are completed, but will we need to redo the medical exam or is there an earlier cut-off date that they look at?

Thanks in advance.

Technically the cut-off is 12 months, but if you filed for AoS within the twelve months they will accept the medical as good even if the interview is held later, just bring the vaccination supplement.

Yes, you ought to be good to go.  The worst that can happen is that you will be told to get another medical exam and have the results sent to them, it might hold up the GC for a few days or weeks but you won't need to schedule another interview.

Thanks for the information. I was afraid that they would be requiring another medical since it was over (just slightly) 12 months from the last exam to the interview date. The vaccination supplement was sent in with the AOS paperwork but I'll have a copy of everything submitted and received to date (and then some) with us at the interview.

Thanks again
