I'm hearing two Russian missiles have hit Poland today.

The missiles struck grain silo's in Przewodovo killing two people.


An emergency meeting of the National Security Committee is called in Poland.


This could trigger Article 5 if Poland calls for it.


Update : Estonia releases a statement saying they're ready to defend every inch of NATO territory and stands in full solidarity with Poland.


Further update : Things are moving quickly...Hungary has also now called for an emergency meeting of the National Security Committee.


The Russian stock market has collapsed following news of the missile strikes in Poland.

IF it was an accident, I don't see a straight line path to any Ukrainian kindergartens, er I mean military targets
so what gives Russia?

Personally,i think it's very significant that grain silo's were hit,bearing in mind the problems Russia has been causing regarding grain exports from Ukraine.


That suggests to me it was a deliberate attack and Putler is testing the water on NATO's response.


I'd say the best response is for NATO  to now declare Ukraine as a no-fly zone to protect surrounding NATO countries from more missile attacks.


Bearing in mind there has been no official confirmation of what happened yet ..although the news stations here are calling it a "very grave situation ".

Zelensky is adamant today that it wasn't a Ukrainian air defence missile that hit Poland .

He may be proven wrong.  However, even if it was a Ukrainian missile, which it appears is the case at this point, the only reason it landed in Poland was because of the 100 missiles Russia lobbed at Ukraine that day. 


There should be a no fly zone over Ukraine, with a more advanced anti missile system.  Russia is targeting civilian infrastructure, not military targets.  That's a war crime, and it should not be tolerated.

I personally thought Biden was very quick to say the missiles didn't come from Russia,before an investigation had been undertaken.


Almost as if he didn't want article 5 to be enacted,and it would be easier to say it was a strike by Ukraine by accident whilst defending itself....for obvious reasons.


Surely if they know the missiles came from Ukraine ,the USA/NATO could have provided evidence by now...so where is it ?


Ukraine has said they're perfectly happy for NATO to undertake investigations in Ukraine to see if any of their missile systems were involved.

If it's shown that they didn't come from Ukraine,then surely as a minimum NATO will need to enforce a no-fly Zone above Ukraine,to prevent more errant missiles from Russia hitting surrounding NATO countries.


That would give the added bonus of preventing more Ukrainian civilians being killed by missile/drone/air attacks.


Zelensky is perfectly correct to say the Russians fired the missiles..if Ukraine didn't.

I saw an interesting video about the the Missile that hit Poland. A viewer posted that if you plug the Lattitude of Kyiv and the Longitude of Lviv into google maps, you will will get the exact point on the border in Poland that the missile hit. This can't be a coincidence. Perhaps one of the fire control technicians in Russia may have got the coordinates botched up.
