IP block
« on: September 04, 2006, 12:10:42 PM »
Happy labor day to all!  I am having a problem e-mailing prospective ladies with the inbox.ru and mail.ru addresses saying that they are undeliverable  because I believe they are saying my IP is  blocked. I shot back at the reply line.  They said it should be unblocked in 10 minutes. But that was 2 days ago and no cooperation at all . I have no clue as to what this is about.  All other e-mail addresse to FSU addresses are going thru ok.  Any input would be helpful.  jj

Who is your ISP?  Have you tried signing up for either a gmail or yahoo account and used them.  They are free and disposable if the need arrises.  If your ISP is blocked it means they are allowing spam, blackholio's or botnet attacks.  If this is the case I would search for another one if possible.  Google for the name of your "ISP blocked" and see what links come up.  My first recommendation is to still get a free address and use that for doing this.
Ive been searchin for the chord I can't hear
Been searchin for years
Its somewhere inside
But its well disguised

I have had quite a few problems getting mail through and I think some of it is a little
friendly hassle by the ru server. Your ISP may be trying to spam the server as well. My mails
have just disapeared even with sending a delivery receipt. The girls tell me they have never
received some of my mail. The mail seems to just no longer exist! Elena Models has had more and
more problems with mail based on the number of red warnings their profiles have. With some of
the illegal stuff our isp providers are doing nothing would surprise me.  I am not a software guy
but I would also question the ru server being properly serviced and up to date.

It's been a long time since I needed it but you need to get cozy with Prompt.com.  They do an online translation for a bunch of languages, and there used to even be a way to view translated web pages.  I'm not the guy to show you how, others here prolly have more recent experience with it.  You'll just have to play with it a bit.

Just don't try to use it to write letters to RWs.

As far as the problems with mail on Elenas.   Check out the e-mail address of the ones with the warnings and you will find nearly 100% are mail.ru addresses.   You almost never see it with Yandex or Rambler or the others.   I think the problem there is with Mail.ru and I would recommend using another free e-mail besides them.

As far as Promt.   Prompt powers the translations at www.translate.ru   They have an option to translate web pages.  I believe it is the second one down on the left.  The first one down is text.  Just learn enough to know to set it to translate from Russian to English which is the second option I believe.
