It's a funny story for everyone other than them, him especially I guess.

From the details given I wouldn't put his life expectancy as long. He's been put in a unit of foreign fighters so they are least likely to value them. They haven't been paid any money - presumably as they are not expected to live. And they are being taught in Russian as who cares about a load of soon to be cannon fodder.

By the timeline of the videos I think he will have finished his three week training by now and will be on the front lines. He probably just has to wait for those in front of him to be told to run forward to Ukrainian gunfire as 'Assault/Storm Troopers' to be pointlessly killed before the group he is in is told to follow suit and do the same.

Potentially he might already be dead, if not yet then it's likely just a matter of time. The time it takes to inform his wife who knows, could be quite quickly or several weeks.

If his luck is in he might be held back for the 'Summer Offensive' in September if that is still on but since Ukraine hit the big Russian military dump that may have been shelved. Russia looks instead to be turning to ramping up drone production in the hope that, that can defeat Ukraine for them.

As a guy in a band of foreign fighters I personally don't think it will be long before they feed him into the meat grinder.

I think I posted a video where he explained why he joined. I think he wanted to prove he is Russian and get an expedited citizenship and also he said he truly believes in Russian cause in this war (whatever that might be  )
Whenever I discuss this with Russians here in US they say that supposedly the goal was to stop NATO expansion, and when I say that as a result there are more NATO coutries bordering Russia, they say that those don't matter
