I joined this list to seek help/advice from the resident experts.
I have a profile on MATCH.COM
I came across a beautiful woman who said she lived in a very small town that I knew pretty well.
I wrote her and asked her where she was really from and she responded...

I could  not  write in profile, that I from Russia. First I specified in
profile  the country, but then a computer of service acquaintances did
not accept my profile and informed, that I tried enter the information
once  again. I did it still few times, but it again asked me to do new
attempt. Then I did experiment and has written in profile, that I from
USA  and my profile at once was it is accepted. I did not know in what
city  there  will  be  mine profile. I has written zip of this city. I
think,  that  it  or a mistake with programs of a computer or this the
service of acquaintances works not with each country.

Her profile was taken down by match.com and she told me to write her at another e mail address.
It was a @yahoo.com address.

I asked for her phone # and got this reply (edited)...

I have in the house the computer, but I have
no a house the telephone and consequently I have no the Internet. I go
to  my girlfriend to write to you the letters. Unfortunately, I to not
have  in  the  property the computer and I can not sit in the Internet
long.  I can not sit at the girlfriend at job all the day, I to think,
that  I  can  not  load  the  bearer  of  dispatches, because I to not
understand  much  in  computers.

We've been talking everyday so I asked for her address in Russia and got this (edited)...

You had in the e-mail some question to me, My address:
Olga  Volkova  ,  Lenina str. 24, city Yaroslavl, Russia, zip: 150000.
But  the  mail in Russia works poorly. I do not want, that you sent me
expensive  gifts.

She (as you will see) is SMOKING HOT!
She sends me pictures and I do the same for her. A red flag went up when another Russian girl that I have never written to wrote me and sent pictures. And then another...
I went to your site for research. I sent Olga 5 roses to the address she provided and paid to have her picture sent to me after they are delivered. It should be delivered on 9/6/06.
I then came across the black list and tried to find her picture on it. I did not but I did find the picture the second girl sent to me. It seems like she has many different names. I wrote the second girl and copied all of the info from the black list and sent it to her along with an angry letter.

So please, if you have seen this girl or you think something is not right, please tell me before I make a bigger fool out of myself!!!

Why don't you wait and see what the flower delivery guys say first.  Offhand I'd guess this is a scam without further info.

Just goggled "Olga Volkova", this is the name of a fairly well known Russian actress born in 1939 in Stalingrad.  It is not uncommon for scammers to adopt the name of a famous personality. 

I'd suggest you beware of this one, smokin' hot photos not withstanding.

As a general rule all the gals that contact you from Russia from a site such as Match or Yahoo will be scammers.   Maybe some day a real one will be on there but I have never heard of it one time.

100% scam.

1) She/He has a computer in the house but no phone.

2) She/He contacted you on an American dating site and sent you to a Yahoo e-mail address to get around the system for total control. Scammers like to contact men who never had any intention getting hooked up with foreign women. These men are naive and don't know that it's not easy for Russian women to get a visa to come to America. So Mr. Naive starts to have this fantasy after a few love letters that it'll be great if this Smokinhotkova can arrive to his doorstep and the sex will be fantastic. It's Okay to dream as long as you wake up to reality and the reality is if you want to get together with a Russian woman, you need to prepare yourself to visit her on her own turf first.

So ducati9s, if this is the path you want to take, you need to get educated to improve your chances of success. Do lots of reading here or forget about Russian women all together.

I would recommend going to a more trustworthy site such as volgagirl or freepersonals or kievconnections or other small agencies instead if you are serious about the FSU gal route!

Pray reveal us the secrets of your authoritative litmus test. Are you using  Erythrolitmin- or Sodium  para-dimethylaminoazobenzenesulfonate-impregnated filter paper ?

Ever tried your litmus test on Freepersonals ? Does it turn red or blue ?

Freepersonals is not bad for finding ladies if you are careful. Scammers are everywhere but again, use your own discretion accordingly.

The litmus test, Sandro, is good common sense and recognizing if your instincts point to something wrong, most likely it is not good.

If you have to add ALL those qualifications to your previous statement :

I was under the impression that good common sense and instincts were at totally opposite ends in the pH spectrum. Your litmus test appears to be somewhat unreliable. Your logic, too.

Yes you were all right, she's a scammer!
I went to www.russian-detective.com and found her pictures on their black list. She was sending me the exact same letters as she did to some other guy. Same pictures too. It's just a shame I did'nt see the site before I spent $55.00 on roses!
Oh well, live and learn I guess.
