Recommendation for clubs in Kiev
« on: September 11, 2006, 07:19:05 PM »
Hello,

Next october I will be for a few days in Kiev, do you have recommendations for night clubs, places to dance , this is to share time with my girlfriend, not looking to find one ...

What we do not like : House music ... extra crowdy with no place to seat ...
What we like : dance music ... pool .. place frequented by people with age range 25-35 (I'm 32, she is 28), the possibility to seat (lounge...)

We tried the patipa and we did not like the place at all ...

Experience is the name everyone gives to their mistakes Oscar Wilde

Deja Vu is just a few paces off Kreschatyk and is a nice jazz club. Saw the Klitchko brothers in there one evening sitting next to us while we were having dinner.

Resttown, mentioned above, does have pool and an OK restaurant - but also has some major competition for male attention - depending on which section of the club you visit.

I can make some excellent restaurant recommendations - but the club scene changes so quickly, it is hard to keep up.

Arena Club is cool, good dance music. There are 4 levels, with restaurant and another bar too. It's at the end of Kreshatik in the Arena Complex, Orangerina is also located in this centre, it's also very nice and they play a lot of American music.

Thanks Jinx. I sure wish I had read that post one day earlier or would have thought to ask here for my son who has been sitting around his apt not knowing where to go. Which end. The one near TGI fridays?  We head home in 4 hours so maybe next time.

Yep Turbo, near that end by TGI Fridays. It's a big shopping and entertainment complex, says ARENA on the side of the building.

It's very nice and modern too, there is a Porsche dealer there too, which was cool because I have a Boxter, so I was checking it out. I can't imagine driving that car in ice and snow though, actually I did that once, in Lake Tahoe, and nearly got killed when my car hit some black ice, but I pulled out of the spin, but driving that in Ukraine, no way!  - David

Caribbean Club was pretty hot last week. The Moda Bar is gone- replaced by  a club called Disco. I used to love the Moda Bar. Madarin Restaurant has tripled most of its prices- they had great duck. You can get a simple steak dinner at TGIF for $30.

Stay away from the River Palace unless you are looking for sex. You cant miss the prostitutes, they have their own tables all around the stage.
