One Bad Apple (American Disgrace)

I got some very interesting news from my g/f who is home in Ukraine visiting her family. She read an article in her local paper written by someone she knows about someone we both know very well. This is a warning to anybody who goes to a foreign country and acts like a total jackass, you don't only make a fool of yourself, you tarnish the image of American's as well.

 This guy, who is from San Jose Ca., also my hometown, was the sponsor of my g/f when she first moved here, she was never romantically involved with him in anyway, he is the 40 year old virgin type, she was just his translator when he went to her city "looking for a wife". She lived with him for awhile, A total nightmare that I won't get into now, but he is a control freak, and not looking for a wife as much as for a slave to cook and clean his house. She has a visa and green card, but needed a place to stay so she put up with him.

 Anyway, about this article, it was written by his latest translator from the same city. She is also a journalist for the local paper. He came there again looking for a slave/wife and this girl was his guide and translator. She titled her article " You have a nice ass" in Russian of course. She named it this because when she asked this American what he could say in Russian, that is what he told her. She went on to say that she had never seen such behavior in a person before, he told girls that they would be expected to give him massages everyday after work, to cook and clean, and do whatever he says. Keep in mind, he's never been laid in his life, wears coke bottle glasses, and he is meeting with tall, beautiful blonde's, from 18-21. The journalist went on to say that she believes ALL American's that come to Ukraine are like this because they can't find anyone at home. She said she would NEVER marry an American guy, and she encouraged all Ukraine girl's to marry a nice local boy.

 My g/f tried to tell her not all American's are this way, but she wouldn't believe it. OK, she is shallow minded, but just think about how many girls read that article. My g/f was shocked to see it in the paper, the girl didn't tell her she was writing it. Her city has a population of about 300,000 and most people at least glance at this paper. Ukraine and Russian girl's have already heard many "bad stories" about American's, and this just adds to it. I have had girls tell me that they heard many things about us, and how the men can be abusive, controlling, sex maniacs. How they only want a slave, not a "other half" To tell the truth, I am not so sure they are wrong about it.

 I am not that way at all, I love Russian women for their intelligence, strength of character, femininity, and yeah of course because they are drop dead gorgeous. But I have met these "Bad Apples" in real life many times, and I knew this particular guy very well, you could say we are enemies. I can't stand the way he treats women, and how he think he can go to Ukraine and "pick a wife" like he is buying bread off the shelf.

 That kind of behavior sickens me, and I hope we don't have people like that on this list. Most people I see posting here seem pretty normal, and appreciate these women for who they are as people, and not just some piece of ass that will cook for them.

 If you do meet these 'Bad Apples' tell them what you think, and let them know what a disgrace they are to our country, and to men in general. It just makes it more difficult for us "normal" guys to go there and gain the trust of these girls.

 Guys, let's show them what American's are really like, be polite, be a gentleman, and treat them with respect. In other words, the same way you would treat an American woman, think about your mother or sister, and how you would want them to be treated. OK, just had to get that off my chest. Unfortunately bad news travels faster than good.  Most RW have heard horror stories about terrible AM and how badly they have treated their wives.  For every good story there seems to be 4 bad ones.  We all have to over come them.

It's sad people will read what a journalist write and absorb it as it's the gospel.

Okay guys, I now learned all American guys know how to say in Russian "You have a nice ass" and remain a virgin before the age of 40. Except me of course.

 Yeah, I'm getting that journalist's e-mail from my girlfriend, and I'm going to write her a letter, not an angry letter, just want to let her know we are not ALL the same, she just happened to meet the real life "40 year old virgin"     but he's not nearly as funny as Steve Carrell, he's actually kind of pathetic and sad. 


 Well Billy, I still don't know how to say "you have a nice ass"  but I maybe I better, who knows, it could come in handy someday.

Nice ass = klassnoya popka I teasingly say it to my fiancee but she claims there's a more "classy" way of saying it.

If there's any consolation to your story about the 40-year-old virgin dude, it's that the only women willing to put up with such a lout are GCGs or extraordinarily desperate women, both of whom will ditch him first chance they get, stateside.

Seems this feeling is shared, despite corresponding with my lady during 4 months, her mother and sister was sending sms to her during all the first days of our vacations. Her phone had not enough credit after 1 day and they were paging her every 4 hours to know if she was ok.

We laughed a lot about the fact that my mother too was talking to me about horror story involving fsu women (despite we were both in our early 30 and late 20 ...)

That is a paragraph full of contradictions and red flags!

 She wasn't my g/f when she first came here, we met after. She got her visa via lottery, so she needed a sponsor. She met El Dorko when he was in the Ukraine a year earlier, and asked him if he would sponsor her, he did.

 When she first moved to California she was a live in nanny but she quit because they only paid her like $200 a month. She had no where else to go, so she moved in with Mr. Nerd. He was not pleasant to live with, but he was harmless as far as putting the moves on her. He wouldn't know what goes where I think.

 She doesn't live there anymore, Thanks God!, as she would say      If she needed a ride to work he would say ok, clean my entire house. A ride to the mall? ok, wash my car, and so on. The guy was a total jackass, and he hated me when I got into the picture, and I couldn't stand to be in his presence. He tried talking with me about Ukraine, like we have something in common, but we couldn't be further apart. He talks about "picking a wife" like she is in the catalog, I guess he believes the term "Mail Order Bride" is factual, and all he needs to do is order a good one. He wants Barbie, very young, excellent cook, loves to clean his filthy house, and enjoys giving a pig nightly massages...what a joke. The article in the Ukraine paper was written by a friend of my g/f, she is also a translator.

I have just been advised that that phrase is not polite, it is how one would refer to a piece of ass for example, not your own lady and not a phrase you should use to your lady.

I was sitting next to a guy on the plane on the way back ftom Moscow. He was in his latter twenties, about 5' 10" 250 lbs and came from a smaller city in Minnesota. He told me the first lady he met there had an emergency. Her grandmother was suddenly hospitalized and she had to leave. After 3 days of not getting her call when she was coming back he arranged meeting with another lady. She came with her mother. He told me they had a grand time as he taught them how to do "shots" with lemon slices and salt. But he said somehow felt he didn't make a love connection with her as they left him alone those last few days.

And what is the problem... the same Ukraine and Russian girl's have heard many "bad stories" about Ukrainian and Russian man... these local man are abusive, controlling, sex maniacs and you can add alcoholic... They want a second mother ( slave side ) that they can beat and fµck...

Everywhere in the world, you have some extremist feminist who don't stop complain about men and of course, they don't understand why they are always alone at 99 year old... You have good and bad men everywhere... one country is not more bad that a other for this... maybe what make the difference is the economical situation... once the situation in Russia/Ukraine reach Western standart, maybe the immigration flow of FSU bride will slow down to a normal low level...

Well guys this is not new.....In the 50's when we lived overseas....We encountered the same problems.

The English took us pretty much in stride....some were a little while in accepting us...(there were bad apples in our area that made problems)

The French! Well the French are French, what can you say?

The Germans were pretty much the same as the English... just took longer to communicate...Never did get really good with my German! 

But YES, we will always have those that embarrass us and there is no way to get around it.

Remember that life is pretty much like a mirror ... most people will reflect what you are like, and your attitudes are most important.

If you look for negative .....It can be found.. very quickly!

I have lived in this little Mid-west town for a year and a half....No stinkers yet. But on the other hand I am not looking for any either!

Just to clear it up, its klassnaya (not klassnoya) popka or popochka depending on whether you want it to sound endearing or not.  Popka is closer to "ass" and popochka is the equivilent of "bum". 

There are many other ways of saying this too, and saying it incorrectly (but innocently) would probably generate a laugh...or a slap.
