Kyrgyzstan visa question

I am going to Bishkek and I want to apply for at least a 90 day tourist visa and my question is do I need a "letter of invitation" from the Kyrgyz ministry of foreign affairs for the 90 day visa? I have heard conflicting info on this issue?

A friend of mine went over with a one year visa without need of any special paperwork beyond the regular visa form but that was last year. Have the rules changed?

Says here that you need an invitation if you're staying more than one month or going to need double entry. Call them to make sure.
