SU-35
« on: September 24, 2006, 10:51:13 AM »
Since there are a lot of pilots and airplane lovers here, I thought this video of an Russian SU-35 would be of interest. It was well done(Discovery channel style) by the Russians. It shows how the jet fighter is put together and then how it would perform in a mock battle with American B-52 bombers, AWACS (radar) plane, and Eurofighter escorts.

I prefer pure aerobatic ... I will recommand you to look at Peter Besenyei... he is one of the best airshow pilot with Jim Leroy (US) and Xavier de Lapparent (FR).

For Peter Besenyei and to see how russian women are flying, watch .

docetae,

Nice stunt flying there in your video. I'm familiar with those planes since I do a little remote control flying. The gal in the video looks like she's flying a Russian made Yak 54. You'd be surprised at some acrobatics Fighter jets can do today. I'll post some more links later as the website I want to use is down. The Russian SU-35 and SU-37 are some of the most acrobatic jets in the world but it still lacks behind the Eurofighter and American F-22.

Christopher, I probably posted #501 before you saw this thread and now it's increasing even more.

Cool video. The vectored thrust and ground attack mode probably work as advertized, but the J-STAR attack was pure fiction, as was the destroyer attack. Well worth watching though  :D thanks

The upgraded version of the SU-35 is the SU-37. With added canards, it has much more acrobatic ability than the Su-35. Notice in these videos the cartwheels, cobra move, and flips performed by a jet plane. Incredible! This is Russia's superiority fighter.

docetae, the French Rafale is old news to Europe and the Su-35's equal. Then new Eurofighter typhoon is better than the Su-37.

Here's supposedly the best fighter in the world though the acrobatics aren't as great but the true capabilities are probably to remain secret instead of being released on video. The F-22 Raptor.

Here are the odds given by a British study of fighters against fighters. The F-22 can take out 10 Su-35's to losing one while a Eurofighter can take out 4.5 Su-35's to losing one of theirs.  Keep in mind, the better Su-37 wasn't part of this study and it said their pilots used in simulation weren't truly familiar with the F-22 and Su-35 thus the true capabilities of the planes aren't maximized. The report also stated that the F-16 and F-15 have undefeated records in real combat. The U.S Airforce likes to downplay the abilities of their jets to lobby for more money from Congress. In one exercise the F-22 achieved a 108-to-zero kill ratio against enemy aircraft.
