I plan to buy one wine and one champaign bottle in the duty free zone before my correspondance flight from Amsterdam to Kiev, do you know if there are flight restriction about traveling with liquids between Nederland and Ukraine ?

If it's in the duty free shop, I don't think they'll make a fuss.  In my experience, it's the long trans Atlantic flights they get uptight about.

I did hear that I'm no longer allowed to bring any electronics onboard.  It all has to be checked in.  This will be the first time I'll have to go without my special music if that's the case.  Looks like I need to bring a stack of Graphic novels, and other reading materials.

You should have no problems buying anything Duty free and bringing it on your flight. When i flew to Minsk. It was just days after the new rules were put in place. You could still buy duty free unless your were flying to the U.k.:) You just could buy a bottle of coke and bring that.

Since you acquire Duty Free items after you clear security, whatever you buy before takeoff should not be a problem going onto the aircraft.

The restrictions on liquids have already been lifted for the largest part. If there are restrictions on duty free they will ensure that you can collect them when you leave the planein Ukraine. They will never stop the business :D

Regarding electronics there is more control. Make sure that the batteries of electronics are loaded and you can demonstrate the device is working. That will be enough to be allowed to carry them.
No it is not a dog. Its really how I look.  ;)

This is not true for the new format of Borispil in Kyiv.  There, security check is after duty free and just before boarding plane.

ok so for a flight from Canada to Kiev via Amsterdam, nothing special except the zip lock for liquid/gel you want with you , 90ml max per bottle. I had cell phone/digital camera/ipod/17" laptop with external drive and extra batteries and they do not even asked me to start it ....

Docetae, I only spoke of the situation when leaving Kyiv.  I cannot speak to the situation of Canada, Amsterdam, to Kyiv.  Sorry.

Docetae,
No problem buying duty free @ Schiphol and carrying it on to Kiev. Where people get snagged up is on the way back. You buy duty free somewhere along the way (Schiphol or on your flight to USA). You have to clear Immigrations & Customs at your first point of arrival in USA. If you have a connecting flight you have to clear security again  before boarding your connecting flight. "So sorry, no liquids through the checkpoint!"  :o Uh, oh whadda I do with my Russiky Standart? Jam it into your (probably overstuffed) checked baggage and hope for the best, or have an improptu party before going back through security! ;D Meet you @ O'hare with some mixers? 8)
