If you could choose one city/town...
« on: October 28, 2006, 09:54:19 PM »
Here's some question for the experienced travelers amongst us...

If you could go to to ONE town/city in Ukraine during winter, where would you go, and why?

I'm planning my trip and I know I'll be in Kiev, but I have been thinking about joining an agency that focuses on specific towns, rather than the whole of Ukraine.

Would you stick to agencies that have ladies from all over Ukraine (and travel to where ever you found someone who seemed compatible)?

or

Would you use an agency that is based in, and focuses on specific cities?

Thanks,

Kuna

Put the names Dnepr, Luganask, Zaparoshia, Kharkov, Kherson and maybe Donetsk in a hat and pull a name.   They should all be pretty good for you.   Cindy agency is pretty good.  Maybe pull their website and see where you find ladies you like and go to that city and use them.   in Kherson, Kherson Girls is good.

Personally, I am more impressed by the smaller agencies in one city. They seem to know their women personally. I know that when I went into a smaller agency in Odessa, I was able to hear that the woman that I was interested in would not be interested in me and , after talking to me, they steered me to a very nice woman who would be interested in me.

Is that Cindy agency in DNK? Very nice staff at that office.

I have met the people from several of the Cindy offices.  They all seem nice.   I think a good smaller agency is also a possibilty.   Kuna might want to check out the agencies I listed in my Trip Report for each of the cities we visited.   All those agencies seemed good.

I have heard a few negative comments about Odessa.  I have never been there myself though.

If you could choose one city/town...  It would have to be a town that was easy to get to in a single bound.  It would have to be a sizable town with plenty of available ladies, and some fun stuff to do.  Natural beauty will do, but old world charm is better.  If I travel to Europe, by Gawd I wanna know I'm in Europe when I look out my window.  This town may be the town where I select a woman to be my wife, if thats thae case, it's a town I have to enjoy because odds are I will return here time and time again on family visits.

Moscow is that kind of town for me.

I went to Kharkov and Dnepropetrovsk and enjoyed my time there.  Less to see there than in Kiev, yet fine venues to interact with Ukraine people (plus good restaurants).  You can do both cities easily, using a direct 4-hour train ride ($5) between them.   Both have frequent inexpensive ($75) flights to and from Kiev, and Kiev-Kharkov is also served by a high-speed train.

In Dnepropetrovsk I had good results using Cindy (mentioned above) and Majestic Ladies:

http://www.majesticladies.com/index.asp

A man I met at Cindy also spoke highly of 5-star (I have no experience):

In Kharkov I worked with only one agency - All Beautiful - a small one with the owner Helen giving me good, personal service.  In fact, I will state that she was the best agency of the three I used.

There are many agencies in Kharkov, which is somewhat larger than Dnepropetrovsk.

This is a very good point that I hadn't considered...

Not a good idea. At least, you should not put Lugansk and Donetsk there.

Stilitz,

May I ask why???  Don't like cities ending in a "k" maybe?

 ;)

But seriously... I'd be interested to know why you'd leave Lugansk and Donetsk off the list?

Thanks Kuna

I think when I made the previous post I said "Maybe"  Donetsk.  I added the maybe because it is a sizable city in the region but I have no experience there other than having had some commication with some ladies there and meeting one.   I do not know if there are good agencies or what the seleletion of ladies would be like.

As far as Lugansk on my tour with Jack it seemed like one of the cities with the best ladies.   The problem is there are a lot of scam agencies there but there are a few good ones too.  My thought about why there may have been more good ladies there is that so many of the men avoid it.

Kuna,

Most of the women who date foreigners in Lugansk just have a job. Their job is to date foreigners. That’s it. Of course, there are good women there, but you will not meet them because they do not join agencies.

As for Donetsk, PM me for reasons. I do not want to broadcast them here so as not to possibly offend some people and start flames, but I have an opinion about Donetsk. All I can tell you is: the East of Ukraine is not interesting in terms of sights and history. You would be bored there. There is much more to see in the South, Center and the West of the Country.

Stirlitz,
If you think that looking down the barrel of a gun is a good way to solicit business, then you're a stupid businessman. Change your avatar, if you want to even come close to western standards of doing business. Personally, I'm tired of looking down the barrel of a gun. Of course, the choice is yours.

Sohkay,

Welcome to Slavic humor.  Read the words below his avatar.  Maybe it implies that he is on guard to protect you.

Stirlitz's pistol does not bother me, and I do not keep a firearm in my house except for one 20-ga shotgun with birdshot shells to kill cottonmouth water moccasins (not rattlesnakes which try to evade you and then give you a warning if they can not get away).

Yet, Stirlitz, some people will find it offensive.

Thanks Stirlitz for the local knowledge.

Coming from so far away I really have no idea of the different cultures in the regions of Ukraine and I'd hate to end up somewhere that wasn't desirable (to me)...

Example...  the generalisations in Australia are:

Queenslanders - Friendly and outgoing
Sydney - Stressed and busy
Melbourne - More highly cultured and quite European
Tasmania - Our Maine  ;)
Darwin - It's a city, but everyone is from the outback

Of course these are generalisations but I think every region in the world has it's nuance's.

Welcome to Slavic humor.

I've found a great place to stay in Riga during the Latvian leg of my trip and was a little concerned at an adventure business attached to the "hostel".

Bobsledding sounds like a HEAP of fun and I'm definitely up for that but another tour they do is called "Vodka and Guns". The idea is you go out into the forest, get drunk and shoot targets in the forest...  I guess they think it'd be fun but... ummm... errrrr... ahhhhh.... No thanks!

I have been in a lot of cities in Ukraine, and my favorite in terms of the city is Kiev.

However, when it comes to interesting and beautiful girls, Dnepropetrovsk is tops.  And JB is correct.  If you do meet your wife there, the city will be forever connected to you and you'll be spending some time there.

Dnepropetrovsk is a city you can enjoy and thrive in.

Ditto to William's, Turbo's and Gator's comments about Cindy Agency.

1. Why do you think that I am soliciting business? I am not here for business, just for fun. Is my avatar more stupid than others’? I do not think so. At least, my avatar shows my face rather than something irrelevant.
2. Calling names is not a good idea when you try to give advice. Do you think many people will listen to you when you call them stupid? Especially when it is unsolicited advice. Your avatar may be even worse because it is none — should I understand it as you are nonentity?

I would suggest omitting flames though. Those who believe my avatar is offensive can always ignore my messages or turn off pictures/avatars in the forum settings. Discussing others’ avatars is a thorny path.

I thought it was a camera, and you were taking my picture ;D.

sometimes i can be harsh to people who are ridiculous and sensitive ::). i don't do this because I'm a mean bad person ;).

my main objective is to toughen up the people who want to meet a woman over here. if you don't have a sense of humor and a thick skin for things, you have very little chance of dealing successfully with this endeavor.

we all have choices in life. we can pick and chose what we want to read, see, and deal with. if you don't like something, chose to move on...but PLEASE, PLEASE leave the political correctness where it belongs (and you wont find much in the FSU).
