Many reasons that also exist elsewhere in the world.. alcoholism, drugs, mental problems, etc etc

But I guess the biggest cause is probably poor parenting.

Like I said the same causes exist all over the globe, but very easy access to dangerous weapons makes the end results so much more deadly and devestating.

Yep, BC have right... parental problem... our modern society need the wife and husband work for confortable income... result, young child stay in children garden... same during basic school,  several child stay after school hour because parent are no back from work... our modern life don't allow us enough free time for educate our children...

It is why i have stop with a good earning work and choice a average work who allow me more time with family... of course, i cannot more give to my family all i wish but by experience, i have see that a simple walk in forest with children make these last very happy... don't need expensive pleasure for children... and now, i have more time for help children after school, for game with them... it is my life pleasure ... sorry, it was

Americans,espeically the children, have too much free time on their hands. We have everything, but we are never satisfied. We trivialize life on televison, the movies, and of course the violent video games. Children don't play normal games much anymore. Go to the parks, and you will see them empty. Mainly just the very young kids and their parents. When the children get older, parents just give them what they want materially, but rarely give them much of their time.  It's sad, kids see the violence, and to them it's normal. It's becoming an epidemic of poor parenting skills. The parents want to make lots of money to buy the big houses, fancy cars and be able to socailize with their friends all of the time.  That means nobody's home to parent the children.

Yes, Elen, these events in the world are sickening. And these type events can happen in any country, as I recall the many school children who were also killed by terrorist in your own country last year.

I have no guns, but am not opposed to them. Just don't want to own one. I have several friends who own guns, who are very responsible. It's not the guns in the house that scare me. It's some parents who are irresponsible because they have poor parenting skills. Only a bad parent would leave a loaded gun lying around the house where a child good get their hands on it. It's a poor parent who does not keep the guns locked away from the children. It's a poor parent who does not teach their children that they are not toys. It's a poor parent who does not teach their children about the value of life.  Most important, it's a poor parent who does not take a proactive roll in their childrens lives. Yes, guns are the weapon of choice in killings, but the problem was there long before the gun ever showed up in the house. Guns may be the weapons of choice, but poor parenting skills is the main reason. The child who killed in Minnesota lost his father to suicide 4 years ago, his mother is in a nursing home 200 miles away and has brain damage from a car accident. He was kicked out of school because he caused trouble in school. He was a member of an Internet Nazi group and his online name was Native nazi. There is a lifetime of issues that led up to this.

I have two handguns and one M4 (the rifle you see U.S soldiers using).  One of the handguns and the M4 is issued to me by my department and the second handgun I purchased myself to carry when off work.

 My daughter is still to young to learn to shoot yet (she is only 21/2) but when she is old enough she will learn when the time is right as did my son.

 Education in America is vastly different than in Russia, we have many different kinds and types of collages and universities both public (state run) and privately owned and operated. Not all meet the educational requirements set forth by the various professions, An accredited university is one which has proven to the various professional groups that they meet the educational requirements set forth by the professional group.

  Graduateing with honors generally means that when you receive your degree you are in the top 2% of your gradueating class.

I meant your wife (who would have her benefits from such "acciedent" with you;) Such odd  idea that you are going to teach your daughter how to shoot didn't even cross my mind) My wife has become an excellent marksman and often competes along side of me in practical pistol combat matches, she dose not enjoy the high powered extreme range shooting (in excess of 1500 meters) because the rifles are too powerful for her to shoot comfortably but she dose enjoy skeet shooting.
