The Child Dilemma
« on: November 26, 2006, 10:44:26 AM »
This is probably the biggest impediment standing in my way of continuing to pursue an FSU woman. I dont know if I want to have children but all of the women that I have met do (women in their 20's). The women respectfully give me the scowl of the century when I discuss not having children. I understand that this is a cultural thing for them to have children. This seems like a barrier that cannot be overcome.

From the book- Bringing Your Fiancee Home by William Livingston. . . .

"She agreed with me that children were not important to her and that she would abide with my wishes not to have any children in our marriage. Then she dumped me for another guy.” Biology takes over- a fertile woman with no children is not going to agree to a sterile relationship. This is the basic human urge to reproduce.
Sooner or later, natural urges will come into play. Come on, get a clue!! She is going to have that baby somehow. She will agree with you at first, hoping to persuade you later that you should have a child with her.  If she does not have that baby with you, then she will have one with her next husband after she fails to talk you into it. You need to set yourself up for success, not for failure.
So, for you fifty-something guys out there seeking to marry a college kid without children, rest assured, there is a baby in the future. Maybe not in your future, but definitely in hers. So- you would be better off spending your time looking for a thirty-something lady, preferably with a child, and set yourself up for a successful, lasting relationship.....

It is not cultural- a natural state is reproduction of species. If she doesnt have one, 95 % will want one. You are better served in revising your criteria-both in age and in existing children

Not sure if I agree with it not being cultural. Dont have statistics handy but seems to be. I have never seen anyone like a Ukranian or Russian woman explode with glee when talking about having children.

Solomon,

Agree with William.  This is Number One Reason.

Yet, you are correct that adding to this are cultural factors. AW that you know probably have a sense of fulfillment from their career.  RW do not have the opportunity that AW have.  They think of family more than job, and generations of the same philosophy gives them a traditional inertia.

This is what many men find appealing about RW.  Not to sound critical but from your words and clues such as your avatar, you are one of those self-absorbed men who wants a  beautiful RW as a playmate, not as the center of your family.  Otherwise you would get one of those career-minded AW.

Nevertheless, I suggest that you keep looking and not give up on RW.  Many RW do not see having a child in the immediate future.  In fact there are many RW in their late 30s without children and perhaps do not want them.   Look in that older pool.  Perhaps their biological clock is ticking, perhaps they wish to practice their medical profession forever.

And keep playing the percentages in the younger women by focusing on young doctors and other highly educated women or business women in Moscow.

If you keep looking you will find a materialistic RW just like you want.  The only question is “How long will she be yours?”.   And even with the career women, we all know many AW who now regret their decision to forgo children.
